[SPEC] DVD handouts: what do "officials" look like

So Dana tells us to go to one of the 27 locations she's posted, approach "an official" and ask for the message the Operator left for us. Not being close to one myself, I'm dispatching my brother (a non ARG'er) to a location near him.

I can envision him walking into a movie theater and having a very confused ticket-seller telling him that he has no idea who the Operator is, and no, he doesn't have anything for him, and would he please just buy a ticket or get out of line? Smile

Since my brother's doing me a big favor, I want to try to minimize the embarrasment he'll have to go through to get this. So, what do you think the "official" will look like? A guy in a Halo-style officer's uniform? A guy in a bee suit? Smile A regular guy sitting at a table w/a stack of DVDs next to him?

2 things:

1. I'm guessing that the ticket people will have received instructions about what to do when this happens.

2. I interpreted "official" to mean the manager on duty.

Strangely enough, my first thought was "any ticket seller." Like you, I figured they'd have been told about this. You're right, though: a manager makes more sense. (And anyway, I'll bet that even the ticket sellers will know to whom they should send you if you ask the wrong person.)

A little more spec:

Ticket-sellers are busy people. They gotta deal with long lines of people wanting tickets, and keep those lines moving. They also tend to be in individual booths. Therefore they probably won't have the DVDs with them in their booth, nor will they have time to get up, go find one from the back office, and bring it to you.

So I'm sticking with the "theater manager" idea, assuming no other likely individual can be visually identified, and ticket-sellers only as a last resort.

If I see no obvious Halo2 personnel, I intend to ask at the "Guest Relations" counter... same place you'd buy gift certificates and such. *shrug*

Speaking of early, as I mentioned in the coord thread, I'll be at the Boston one. Around 6pm EST ... three hours early....

I'll be reading a Halo book.

well they look like..

Me and another ILG'er just went up to the service desk, and the girl behind the desk handed us both a copy after the pass phrase. Sorry to report no " dancing robots with bags of DVD's" but the disk is cool, especially the unused scenes section.

farewell,

Chooch

Yeah, there are four unused audio scenes that didn't make it into the final batch/were remade into the .wavs we got. Three were Chapter 1 .wavs, and one was an addition to the Rani/Sarah John prison scene in Chapter 12. If they would've kept them, it would have been painfully obvoius that the Apocolypso knocked out all chatter everywhere when it came into orbit.
