I actually have no idea what my summer plans are at this point. I'll almost certainly do some sort of internship-type thing, but I don't know what/when/where. So all I can say is maybe, but in a positive sort of way.

July in any one of these cities guarantees you will see a wilted Wellsie. It just won't be pretty. *snif*

partying drinking is never required. and there are billions of things to do in New York that don't require drinking--visiting museums ...but bagsbee, really, you are going to start scaring people away with that avatar...
didn't you used to have a cute one??
edit: no I guess you didn't...love the hair though.

He even said he had a good time in Orlando. That boy gets smarter every day.
As long as the ARG Widowers can hangout , he'll always have a good time.
We might be able to swing something on my hubby's schedule (if there is no increase in military action putting him overseas). I would much rather have him along on these trips (and he's never seen NY either).
Another good thing about July, I would probably be able to make it a longer weekend rather than a shorter one.

I've been informally taking an informal poll in chat over the past couple months as to where people want to have this thing, and it seemed by all accounts that NYC was the favorite. Imagine my surprise when I noticed that NYC is only leading Chicago by one vote . Much like a Ukrainian election, the results don't jibe with the exit polls.
Then someone pointed out this thread .
Let me clarify my position on this - it's fairly obvious where I want ARGFest to be (hell, I've done some shameless promoting at times), but I have no problem having it in Chicago if that's where people want it. I just don't like the idea that people are voting without really knowing what it is they're voting for . I think the recent influx of new players may be skewing the results in an unanticipated way, probably because it no one (read, myself) took them into account and explained what exactly ARGFest was when creating the poll.
Thoughts? Am I overreacting here? Tell me so and I'll shut up.

lax, very lax.... heh, I also noticed how lax we were about expressing any rules for this poll, like when it ends and how much a city needs to win by..
there is a reason for that of course.
the reason is that it isn't a competition-- it is people voting for where they prefer to spend time and money on a vacation that includes getting together. So the best result is that we end up choosing the place that the most people will be able to visit... (In some ways it reminds me of planning a family reunion.)
at least I think that is the idea.

You gonna be around in July? A lot of people seem to be pushing for July now, god help their sweating souls. I ask because you mentioned something about your tour being extended.

I'm hoping to come, so I vote New York - it's much more accesible (and therefore cheap) for us Europeans!

Hopefully I'll come sans family (they just don't understand) and can hook up w/someone to share a hotel room.
