So what (specifically) killed Yasmine?

Just an interesting endgame question. It's been known for several weeks that the military just pushed Yasmine too much, and her body collapsed. I can accept that. But this week, we had a very specific description of (apparently) her last moments. First we read this on the webpage; then Durga spent about a minute recounting it in detail.

It got me thinking: Certainly this sequence of events has an emotional purpose, but the level of detail is quite precise. Are we supposed to derive some meaning from this? Think this was a critical step in the Spartain training process?

Basically, what I got from it is that it brought about her attraction to the ilovebees site. The yellow with black stripes in the needle, the "sting," etc. It also explains why one of our code question and answers was "What insect do I hate? Bees"

If you had read The Fall of Reach you would know that
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
those injections are what gives the Spartans their increased strength and all that stuff. All of the Spartans recieved them, but some didn't live, like Yasmine.

spec:

this final injection was not intended to kill Yasmine, merely put her body in a coma-like state, and prepare her brain in a state of frozen readiness

what actually killed her physically was the process of mapping her neurons by the computer, this is apparently a very intrusive process, and destroys the living brain tissue as it goes through, once Yasmine's mind had been transferred to the computer, her body was was probably disposed of

All Spartan-II's go through this procedure, it is where most of them died. Yasmine was proble one of the unlucky ones.

From The Fall of Reach:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1.Carbide Ceramic Ossification: advacnced material grafting onto the skeletal structures to make the bones virtually unbreakable. Recommended coverage not to exceed 3 percent tot bone mass because of significant white blood cell necrosis. Specific risk for pre and near postpubescent adolescents: skeletal growth spurts may cause irreparable bone pulverization.

2. Muscilar enhancement injections: protien complex is injected intramuscularly to increase tissure density and decrease lactase recovery time. Risk: 5 percent of test subjects experience fatal cardiac volume increase.

3. Cataltic thyroid implant: platinum pellet containing human growth hormones catalyst is implanted in the thyroid to boost skeletal and muscle tissue. Risk:rare instances of elephantiasis Supressed sex drive

4.Occipital capillary reversal: submergance and boosted blood vessel flow beneath the rods and cones of subjects retina. Produces a marked visual perception increase. Risk: retinal rejection and detatchment. Permanent blindness.

5. Superconducting fibrification of neural dendrites: alteration of bioelectric nerve transduction to shielded electronic transduction. Three hundred precent increase in subject reflexes. Anecdotal evidence of marked increase in intelligance, memory and creativity. :Risk signicant instances of Parkinsons disease and Fletchers syndrome
