once again, too busy... I will definitely try to get on tomorrow night... it's been too long Crying or Very sad I almost got on, but the few party join requests I sent (krystyn waters and another one or two) weren't enough... for some reason, all the party invites I was sent in return got me to the room, but got kicked out because 'bungie was sorry but there was a network issue with the party' or something like that... couldn't join the party, no matter who sent the invite... I gave up, and I had company on their way anyway... ah well.

maybe I'll fare better tomorrow tonight Razz

I believe it was CirrusStrafe who incited others (at least 4 or 5) to send me audio messages all at once in order to distract me!

Heh. You said mine was the most concise and creative of the night.

I have that problem a lot, too. Either that or it won't let me send a message because "Xbox Live is having problems right now."

I was lagged up on every game I've played today. Maybe bungie has been having some server problems lately.

heh i was actually not lagged too badly today for the first time in days.

I did have server problems though, like it wouldn't let us start the matchmaking process for a while, or send messages and such.

Ha! Forget the rating system; on Saturday, I got a 'Dude, you're hard to kill' after a game. So much better than the prior --and frequent --'Dude, you suck.'

On another note, I played a few rounds on XBL yesterday with my brothers, who had never played Halo before. I want to thank everyone who volunteered to turn on handicapping. It really seemed to give the new folks (The word "new" here means, "That's the 'A' button --no, the green one. You used it to jump") a chance to enjoy the game. Even the folks that joined the party later volunteered to turn on the handicap. Thanks to everyone who played.

Lag was not a big issue for me. It's only a problem on games with 16 guys and even then, it's not everytime.

I had some problems to connect to Live on Saturday night. I would go to the troubleshooter and it would connect fine, but it wouldn't let me sign in after that. When I finally did sign in, I noticed that the matchmaking options where the old ones, without team slayer there! Some kind of weird problem there.

That problem about not letting start big team battle with 8 guys was annoying as hell! Almost as annoying as the "failed to load map" ... Those damn thomson drives!! Laughing

And one thing. For those that still have errors like "network problems" when trying to join a party, I still suggest looking at firewalls. Disable your firewall and ask the person that invited you to do the same. It worked for me on different occasions, even though I would prefer to leave it the firewall running for safety reasons.

Heh. I joined the game and nobody told me about it! So I killed a lot of guys without any handicap settings! Laughing I did turn it on afterwards though. All in the name of fun!

I can't get to it from work, but the Xbox Live site has some specific instructions on what to open up on your firewall for XBox Live. You should be able to open specific port numbers on your firewall that go just to the IP address of your Xbox. You should be able to play XBox Live and use your firewall, too.

I can play with my firewall running. I don't usually have problems joining other people's game with the firewall.

But I was having problems with some people (not all) that couldn't join my party. I remember specifically weephun and kaberA (I think). And quite frequently, I would send an invite, the person would respond saying they couldn't join, then I would disable my firewall, resend the invite and voila, the person would join easily! I didn't change any ports settings on my firewall, since Live was working, for the most part.

I'd like to formally apologize to FourDSwissCheese for sniping him in the head with the beam sniper 3 times in a row last night. I'm sorry!

Hee hee.

I have so much fun playing with everyone.

Yeah, I have to get up at 7 in the morning. 3.5 hours of sleep doesn't cut it.

Damn you time zones... damn you!!!!

On Saturday, I went to bed around 6:00am .... Woke up at 9:00am on Sunday ... When you guys showed up around 11:00pm, I just couldn't continue playing! But even if I stayed, I was so tired that I would suck a lot, according to Clayfoot's sleeping deprived theory ...

East Coast (and beyond) unite!

I tend to be on Live in the 9-midnight Eastern area.

But I get the feeling there's a whole other cadre of Beekeepers around who I haven't yet even seen online due to the time differences.

Sort of a day shift/night shift scenario I think.

I need to go nocturnal.
