Apparently it's supposed to hurt to be called "bundles of wood". I never knew! I'm not sure how my "wood-like" nature is a slap against my halo 2 playing abilities, but I'll have to remember to be insulted the next time.

Oh I see the confusion! You are using the literal definition of the word, rather than the slang meaning.
In Britain it means cigarette. He was probably calling you a smoker, which is an insult thanks to those hip and edgy TRUTH commercials where they show everyone what it REALLY means to be an annoying non-smoker.

(So am I the only one who uses the mute player feature?)

Shocked There's a mute player feature?!

*Makes note to self to petition MS to make this a mandatory, user-friendly feature in all Live games*

EDIT: If you use the mute player feature on someone, is it possible to un-mute them?

I don't use the mute feature. I'm soooo used to trash talking, that I just don't care ... I have to be in a really bad mood to get those guys under my skin!

I think the only game I ever wanted a mute feature was a CTF coagulation. A kid called willie joined our party and just wouldn't shut up!! I'm sure some of you remember that! Not only it was annoying, it was preventing us to talk to each other during the game! Other than that, I'm all fine! It's all for fun, guys! Very Happy

Yeah, willie1056 was about to become a casualty of war by his own guys... us. I actually took a couple of shots at him (3 clips worth or so). That was mostly to get him outta my sight though. I had him on mute almost the entire game.

The other feature I've found for the mute option is to mute my roomate. When we're playing together, I can hear him just fine when he's talking 5 feet from me, and the echo through the set is disorienting.

I'm still wondering which of us Willie has on a friends list, cause he got himself into our (unfortunately not locked) game somehow...

He doesn't have to be in our friend's list. It was probably a recent player from a matchmaking ... It's not the first time it happened! That's why, putting invite-only is a good thing. Sometimes it can be a pain to join a game, but it's for the best!

I'm not sure if that's what he was getting at. Yes, bundles of wood are cigarettes, but they also call cigarettes fags. I think that he was trying to be too smart for his own good.

As a note, this thing is really cool:
http://flash.onespartan.com/halo2stats.html

Unfortunately these forums don't seem to be compatible with it... but sitll super neato!

Here's an example of one formatted for me:

I have heard tell that if you send a very nice audio message friend request to Kristen, it's much more appreciated than some quick n dirty plain old boring one!

Thunder, you haven't played a single rumble pit match?? Wow! I used to play a lot there! Now that eastern time players are online earlier, I'm not playing as much! But it's a fun game when nobody is around!

**Edit** forget the above comment. Don't know why, it wasn't showing the stats as it should ... Embarassed

hahaha, mine was quick 'n' dirty, but that's because I was ingame with her when I did it. Asking her was something to the effect of "umm...uh, Miss Kristen, ma'am...umm...well you see...umm...can I be your friend, pretty please?"

...or something lame to that effect Wink

I remember your request. It was tres cute!!

tangent ...

I get a little annoyed when I invite one person, and they in turn invite five other people to come in, and suddenly, you know, common courtesy flies out the window. I tend to invite those people less, because you know, you could -ask- before you bring a crazy posse over to kick my butt.

Man.

My request was the old boring one as well. I didn't even record a voice message! Embarassed But that's just because I was playing with her already. She accepted, so I guess it's all good! Cool

It was just the flurry of last night, is all I am saying!

I can't speak for her, and I also don't think it's a hard and fast rule ... just something she mentioned. Smile
