ok I'm gonna try to be on tonight... can someone volunteer to teach me the rocket/sword lunge(s) and such? I missed all the main training events, so I'm way behind... Sad
heh

Sure. A lot of people make it sound more complicated than it is; it's really just about timing.

You need a rocket launcher and an energy sword. Set your weapon to the launcher and target something so that your reticule turns red. Hit whatever button you have set to switch weapons, and just as the rocket launcher is going off the screen, hit the attack button. It'll take you a few times to get it right when you start out, but if you do it right you'll go sailing towards what you were targetting, as it still recognizes the rocket's recognition of a possible target. Hit your action button (X) to cancel your attack as you get close; you'll still follow through with the lunge, but you won't actually attack.

Watch this for a quick visual, if you're so inclined.

Sorry to hear that! I hope they don't charge an arm and a leg ... Sad

Weephun, since I learned you know portuguese, we never got the chance to use it as a "secret covenant code"! Laughing It should warrant some funny moments!

Thebruce,
If I'm around tonight, and I'm not sure if and what time that will be, send me a msg and we can always get a game going to show the "sword jump". As Jinx said, it's easy to do it! But it's a lot more fun with a group of guys! Cool

You can also do it with any gun, but the rocket gets the best range for it. Battle Rifle isn't too shabby, so I suggest learning the timing for that weapon too if it's a trick you want to get the hang of.

Yeah, last night was a blast. Until my connection died in that Lockout game. I was able to bring it back to life, but only as a sort of zombie. A shadow of what it once had been. I swear, that had to be some of the worse lag I've seen yet.

I am getting better at rocket lunging though. I can usually do it in 1 - 3 tries now.

And yeah, the dancing, I mean... ghetto blaster jig Very Happy... was fun. I think that may replace corpse-humping as my kill celebration of choice. As I said last night, however, If there were one way to make an Elite vomit, that would be it.

As for timing, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I'm usually on from 7 or 8 AZ time (yeah, we are sort of our own timezone cause we don't mess with any of that wacko daylight savings stuff) until I can't keep my eyes open any longer (about 11 - 12). Tuesday's harder because of church - I'm either on at 10:30ish or not at all. And Thursdays I have a Bible study from 7 to 9, so I may be on a little before that, and at about 9:30 or 10 afterward. Weekends are almost never the same, so I won't even try to guess at a regular schedule for them.

I should be on tonight as well but maybe not until 8 CST. If you need a rocket lunge target or something I'm always available. Even during slayer matches as Waters can attest.

lmao, we're going to have to get that on film sometime soon, it was downright hysterical. You looked like an Elite with ADHD.

Raspberry

I'm not sure why she's after you so badly, angelo... but for cryin' out loud, pander to her already! Yeesh. You two act like second graders, pummeling on each other when it's quite obvious to the rest of us what's goin' on... Rolling Eyes

EDIT: To include a tiny reminder as to why people magnate towards our beloved comms officer.
