Whoooo hoooo! Heard from ThaJinx last night. He's all moved in and stuph (well, minus no internet connection so he's hanging out at the local Kinkos to get his fix Laughing ). Sooo, he lives off the exact same freeway exit as I do. Maybe a 5 min drive between our houses. Very Happy

I'm telling ya, Boise's the place to be!!!!! Cool Wink

Yeah, INSANELY cool, I couldn't believe it when he told me. And I've got the web hooked up in my house now, thank goodness, but I'm actually not feeling Live's pull. It's a pretty sure bet I'll be on tomorrow night. Thanks a lot for making the transition easier, all of you. Smile

Just a little heads up for anyone who cares - I'm moving to a new flat today and tomorrow, and the DSL won't be hooked up there until the 26th of Jan. So, until then I won't be around on Halo 2 at all. I'll still be around on the forums etc (sharing a 56k modem with 2 other people Sad ).

For those who are intrested in my Xbox live troubles, I recieved a reply from Microsoft. Instead of recaping everything, I'll just post the emails. I don't think this any of the info is very helpful, but maybe someone smarter than me can come up with something to help:

Quote:

Thank you for writing to Xbox Live regarding the problem you experience in Halo 2's ranked games.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this matter has brought you.

This could be a latency issue in your part.

Please check the following:

1. Determine the bandwidth usage of your network connection. If you use your network connection for an Xbox console and a computer (or 2 Xbox consoles), the two devices share the network bandwidth. Try playing the game while the network is not being used on the computer.

2. Try playing the game at different times of the day. Typically, residential high-speed networks experience most network traffic in the evenings when people are at home using their computers.

3. Determine if Xbox Live service is experiencing problems. For more information, visit http://www.xbox.com/en-us/support/default.htm.

For your problem, being unable to join a party, this is an issue in Halo that Microsoft is already aware of.

Please try to check at a later time if the problem is already resolved in your end.

In case you have other Xbox Live concerns, feel free to write back.

We take feedback on Xbox Live and our Customer Service very seriously and review customer comments daily.

Sincerely,

Dan
Xbox Live Technical Support

DESCRIPTION :
When I play ranked, team, Halo 2 matches, I will get dropped in the middle of the game. Specificly, (mostly) when I'm waiting to respawn, the respawn counter will freeze. When the countdown would normally reach zero (sometimes a little longer), I will get the blue screen. When it reconnects back to the game, it appears that everyone has dropped and I came in first place. Before getting booted to the blue screen (while the countdown is freezing), I can see everyone running around like normal. This only happens druing ranked team games, regardless of team size. Unranked games play normally (regardless of size). My gamertag is ROBOGriff if you would like to look up the stats for my last games played online. Also, the last time I logged on (Sun 9 Jan 2005), after I was booted, I could not accept any party invites. This happened to me before. Please help. This is ruining my experience and making me not want to play xbox live. My xbox is connected to my router (dlink di-614+) with no other devices active on the network. My modem is SMC EZ connect and my ISP us cox. I belive I have 256k both ways.

but i have one question, i want to hookup with my fellow 'keepers, and i know there's the Beekeepers and Evadeevadeevade, but i don't know how to join up (this is a 142 page thread, and i'm sure its changed since page one)
what are the current bee clans and which one can/should i join?

Current clans, as far as I've seen:

EvadeEvadeEvade
The Beekeepers
Spartan 1point1

I can't speak much for any clan but E^3, but I'm quite happy there. We're fairly non-competitive, don't really care that much about clan ranking, and usually are just out to have fun. We love having newbies along, and will willing put on handicaps so that people who have just picked up a controller (and Angelo), can wipe the board with us.

As for getting into e^3, play a few games with some of us, and if we think your playing style fits with the rest of us (it probably will), then just ask and they'll probably send you an invite.

EvadeEvadeEvade is where all the cool people are, but all they do is play bumper cars and try to get out of levels.

Beekeepers has a few cool people, but there are never very many of us on at tone time. We have the best strategies because most of the former SPDR ninjas are here, but we also have to put up with Incitatus Wink

Spartan 1point1 has like 5 people in it. Most of them are never on except Rendon who has a shotgun surgically implanted in his arm, and siege88 who is pretty good at capturing flags.

It doesnt really matter which clan you join, because people from the other clans will still send you invites and play with you as long as you don't use the retard filter... or voice mask.

Just be aware of the special rules we sometimes play with... the zombies game, bumper cars, or other stupid yet fun variations that have rules that operate on the honor system.

In other news, we need to organize the undead barbershop quartet! I REEEEALLY want to get a video of 4 zombies popping around the corner, one at a time and start singing!

Yes, yes it is. Wink

Actually, we also play zombies. But yeah, EvadeEvadeEvade isn't particularly competitive. It's sort of the hippies of the clan world. Laughing

Aw, he's okay except when he's introducing himself. Wink

Yep, as long as you're a beekeeper!

Just ask -- people are only too happy to explain the rules.
