I tend towards the patheticness myself Smile

Just general politeness is all that's necessary when asking for an invite. Or if you know the person real well, feel free to be an ass Smile

Generally you'll get accepted by any beekeeper, unless they're in a full game, a clan match you're not eligible for, or just feel like doing some team skirmishes instead of larger games.

It varies from person to person, but the standard modus operandi is to send Krystyn a very long message asking for an invite, and do it over and over and over... Wink

Seriously though, I usually try to figure out the leader of the party (I think it's usually the #1 slot on the party list), and send them an invite. I try not to spam a party, but I will re-send an invite if I haven't heard anything back after 10 minutes or so of waiting.

I'll also raise my hand to be an invite-b*tch. Feel free to send me an invite request when you see me on. I'm pretty good about answering them, even during a game.

Proactivity! We like you, and we want to play with you. If you don't message us, we may or may not check our friends list (I usually do between games), and see that you're on. It's not like you're proposing marriage... I don't think anyone minds getting an invite request.

I just send the invite.

When asking for one, I usually go with a plaintive, "Invite me?"

I usually just say "Hey, invite me when you get a chance." That, or the simple text message "inv?"

I'm extremely good about checking my messages inbetween games, or when I die in game. I'll usually send a message back if we're playing team skirmish, big team battle, or clan matches and already have a full crew. Most commonly I'll say something like "Hey man, we've already got a full load, but as soon as someone drops I'll send you an invite."

So, feel free to message me for an invite to a game.

I am getting -worse- about responding to invite requests and stuff, but I aim to do better. I think I've been just ... overwhelmed lately, and I know people see me as a conduit for a lot of larger fun games, so I will strive to be better.

I now take a few minutes each night and clear out any messages that are left (except for barku from VectorB and some other lovely songs and distraction messages I get, because I like to listen to them again and again), which helps a lot.

4DSwissCheese has a great text he uses me with. For a while, it was a single start, but now it's just the letter, "i." Works for me!

Hmm. After the forum being so quiet I feared it was dying, it's suddenly bursting with life.

People posting, people browsing...

What happened?

I usually send messages that end with me going on tangents and forgetting to ask for an invite.

Or I'll just ask for an invite, and proceed to screw around in campaign until I get a response Razz

Probably because people are finally getting sobered up after the holidays. Also because the greatest football team of all time has ended their season, so lots of people are no longer mesmerized by their 16-2 season.

I'm just a complete ass 90% of the time, a polite one, but an ass none the less.
