I like making the bomb planter the next zombie. I think this won't work that well. Purely because if the humans are decent, and go as a group, they'll be able to plant the bomb before the zombies manage to get a good sized group. If they're really good, they'll be able to plant the bomb before the zombie gets a kill. Granted, CTF doesn't change it that much, but you have to go across the map twice, instead of once at least.
Okay, so at least 3 rounds to win, maybe more. The humans have to plant the bomb or capture the flag 3+ times to defeat the zombies. Everybody stays on the same team between rounds. We keep increasing the number of rounds to win until balanced: In any given match, the humans or the zombies are equally likely to win. We could play a few matches with unlimited wins, just to get a feel for the right number of wins to target.

With multiple bomb or flag carriers, we have to pick the next lone zombie another way. We could use the last human carrier, arguably a tough job. We could use most kills on either team. We could use longest average life. What stats get recorded in CTF and in assault? Which stat could we use objectively to choose a new zombie?

I wouldn't use average life. Average life is game length/deaths. So if you become a zombie and go off and hide, you'll have the longest average life. On the other hand, that might be a suitable punishment for those hiding.

Assault/CTF records flag steals/bomb carries, flag saves/bomb carrier kills, and flag scores/bomb plants. I would do plants/scores or kills for next zombie.

Clayfoot I like the thinking on that idea a lot. This may be fine tuned enough to start putting into practice.

completely unrelated to the immediate discussion, but my boss' computer just started blaring the Benny Hill Theme for no apparent reason. I about lost it laughing and barely stayed in my seat!

Completely unrelated to the discussion, INCyr, you sound sick. Have you started taking Zicam, yet?

Since we're on the topic of unrelated subjects; if you need a good laugh go here. Be advised it is rated M for Mature.

Sick, as in I'm being testy and generally unpleasent? Sorry about that, I'll try and be a tad nicer.

As for whether I'm feeling well or not, I'm actually doing alright. I've been drinking water and munch cough drops (mmmm... menthol), and I took drugs this morning (Vit. C, Echinecha (sp?), generic dayquil).

Luckily for me I have a KICK-A** immune system. If I go down, I go down HARD, and I don't think Zicam will help. But I'll keep it in mind.

If anyone ever wants to play some Halo 1,

go to http://xbconnect.com/ and download the (non-Pro) program for free.

It's the only place to play Race! Wink

We could have a Warthog Racing Circuit...

My name there is the same as here.

Good times last night testing out the Zombie Game Variants.

I had a brain storm last night and came up with another game variant that I would like to try out. I call it "Feistatories".
Basically it's Territories
Team play: on
# of plots: 8
Contention time: 3 sec
plot capture Time: 3 sec
Time to win round: 5 minutes
# of rounds: 3
Game time limit: unlimited
Primary and Secondary Weapons: Random
Weapons on map: Random
Vehicles and turrets: Random
Half Respawn times for everything and everyone (5 sec).
Sheild: normal
Start Gernades: on
'Nades on map: on

Anyone willing to help me test it out this weekend?
I still haven't tested out True SWAT, so I need test subjects for that too.

It might be, rabbit, it might.

on a random note, I ran across this video:

http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=lullabyandgoodnight

A guy in this game fell asleep while on Live (you can hear him snoring), so his 'friends' decided to screw with his snoring immobile body. Pretty funny stuff.

I weep when I read the gamertags involved though... it's been said before but, people pay money for these things?

(if the streaming video on the site is too slow, I figured out the direct download link: http://x2.putfile.com/videos/c7-3104411981.wmv )
