Hahaha! I had a great time last night. I got into a game with Trident, and Mike was there and a bunch of other people. We had some nice team games as well as some great slayer matches. So far it's the most fun I've had on Halo2 xbox live since I've been playing. There something extremely funny when you get into the game and someone(Trident) is singing, "It's the final countdown" and everyone on the team starts simulating(rather hilariously-is that even a word?) instrument solos. Great time all who were in with Rokar around 5ish est.

I think the bashing is because it got to be close quarters. I've been practicing melee a lot in the campaign, and I think I am finally having fun with it. I was never brave enough to do too much of it in H1, for some reason.

It also seems to disorient people, even if they're expecting it - it physically moves them, so that if they're trying to mow me down, they lose their sights a little bit, and have a lot of confusion suddenly filling their screen.

If you are really quick you can swing around and get them in the back after the intitial head on melee attack. It definitely takes a lot of practice but it's a nice trick to have. Most of the time when I melee someone I can get around them for another. This really works well when you raise the look sensitivity up. Just a suggestion, everytime you play campaign and beat it, raise your look sensitivity up one level. You'll turn on people so fast they're thrown off even more. I play Halo1 on a 9 look sensitivity.

A note about the "Radar" Wink

It's not actually a radar, it's a motion tracker for those who didn't know. Therefore if you don't move, you don't make a dot. Works really well in strategy games like CTF and allows you to find a rock to sit behind to scope the scene out before heading to your next destination to scope out more. Use the cover Bungie provided, it's there for that purpose Smile [/done]

Thanks and see you later

People saying funny things. It's great to be able to talk to everyone, after all.

That it IS. When K says Team, I say Poo!

Team!
Poo!
Team!
Poo!

^_^ So much fun!

I so totally remember that... was I there?

the leveling system still boggles my mind... at some times I am a level 4, in other games I'm a 7. Strange! Oh well, either way I suck Very Happy Though I did manage to jack a banshee today, that made the entire match worthwhile!

Updated Gamertags for the Beekeepers.

Planning on some sort of clan practice tourny with the SPDRN's wendsday.

And Having a BLAST with some of the non-clan associated keepers on LIVE.

And yes, to affirm, I am Getting Better at Swords... I promise :p

A little recipe for you all to try:

"Fleas with Swords"

Phantoms > Midship
Swords Match.
Motion tracker off.
Swords starting weapons.
50 kills.

Just an idea I had thinking about the old camo elites. We had a bit of fun with this one. All you can see is floating swords, and dead bodies on the floor.

Actually, Chad (whose Gamertag seemed to be a fan favorite last night) works at my GameCrazy, and he, another employee, and I were all singing "The Final Countdown" as midnight arrived on the 8th... You can imagine why.

I think I'm officially classifying Mike as my Honorable Rival. Next time, Iron Chef!

Some things I'm starting to notice on this game for multiplayer.

- The Pistol is very good for close combat, when dual wielded with a SMG or a Plasma Rifle. You have to shoot fast and aim for the head.

- I find Plasma Rifle + SMG combo better than Dual SMG.

- If you're used to throw grenades on Halo 1, you have to readjust for Halo2. I believe they don't cause as much damage as on Halo1, but more important, they don't go as far, so readjust the angle you throw your grenades. I'm finally getting some kills with it.

And RokaR, sorry for sucking so much yesterday! Laughing But I had 3 guests that were playing it for the first time. So they were totally lost on the maps and they didn't know how to dual wield or anything like that ...

On a side note, I didn't join any of the clans. Should I? Honestly, just playing with some of you has been quite fun and being on a clan or not is nothing more than a detail to me.

Well, I keep trying to play with y'all (in between doing work) but for some reason I can't make it through a full game without losing my connection to XBL. I haven't had time to try calling tech support, but when these linkdeath issues abate I'll be on more. (I feel like I'm letting teams down when I LD)

Side question: every ILB game I've been in has been team based. Is that a widespread phenomenon? I like what it says about our collective character.

Heh, I've noticed that too... our "Squad" mentality has, in part, carried over to Halo 2... and not too shabbily, I might add. Out of teams I've been on in any online game ever, the Beekeeper teams have been the most well-communicated, well-organized teams of all. With a little spoken strategy over the team chatter, we become a well-oiled (okay, slightly more greased) machine of effectiveness!

Waters, don't worry too much about sucking. It happens to all of us at some point, and your newbie friends have to get broken in somewhere. Better with us than with the kid I played against the other night who killed me and yelled (I sh*t you not) "I pwned j00r a$$!" at my corpse. (The leet-speak is inferred from his tone of voice, btw.) It's people like that who make the just-becoming-acclimated-to-the-game types want to quit playing. (I ran back, killed the kid, and mocked his tiny voice and said "I'm a whiny douchebag!" in retribution.)

Man, I really wish the Gamertag TridenT hadn't been taken. I would've settled for Trident042, even... taken. I went with Rokar because it's a word I came up with a long time ago that I figured nobody would know. (Works... A kid I played Burnout with last night called me Rocker the entire time.)

I think you should join a clan if you want a set group of people to get used to playing with each other then go and play competitively with other clans. If that interests you, then go for it.

Me, I kinda like the 'Friends' list and just forming custom games with whichever beekeepers are online at the time.

Plus, asking to be part of someone's clan is giving me some unsavory junior high school flashbacks. "No, Mike - you're ugly and you dress funny. Go sit with the other uncool kids." Smile

NO! It's ROH-car! You're right. The little kid can't read, that's what I was getting at.

Cursing There will be NO calling the whole thing off!

In other news, just leave the Rokar tag alone and call me Trident, or Tri, or Dr. T, or Mr. T, or T T (yes, I just made you say another word for boobies) or something along those lines.

I don't actually remember whether it was in this thread or another, but someone mentioned training exercises.

I think this is a *very* good idea.

If more advanced players could work with the less-experienced, there would definitely (considering how well we work when we work together -- Kristen Rutherford told me via email that we were "like Borg"...whatever it is, we assimilate it...and get stronger) come a day when the rest of the xBox Live community would fear the wasp.

Incidentally, Kristen mentioned in the phone chat today that she's afraid to give out her gamer tag because she thinks she's really bad.

Perhaps one of you who is very good could offer her some help?
