Clayfoot's such a smart-ass. With this, and the constant text messages in the lobby to tell me to hurry up and start the game, it's any wonder he escapes death at my hands as much as he does!

Yeah, it's his fault. It was either that or WoW, and since it's cheaper to get EQ, and he already has an account, we decided to go with EQ for a while.

http://www.mmogchart.com/

FYI, Everquest is not the most popular/addicting.

Well, keep in mind EQ is out for quite some time!! It lost a lot of customers to the new gen games, like SWG/WOW/COH/FFXI/EQII ... When it was mostly UO/AC/EQ (then later DAOC), EQ was the most popular by far!! It's not really fair to compare with the new games ...

And when I say it's the most addictive, there had nothing to do with customer numbers. It was just an opinion (that's why it had "arguably"), considering EQ is for the hardcore player, it demands time (AKA as Evercamp!) and it rewards those that spend tons of time.

INCyr, I hope you don't get sucked in! But since it's your first mmorpg, I'd have tried WOW or one of the new mmorpg's, not EQ!!

EDIT: I didn't mention Lineage I, because it was not popular in US. Don't know how Lineage II is doing in America, to be honest.

In some ways it is. Everquest has managed to keep a constant player base for 5 years now. It's one of the oldest out there, yet it's still pretty much going strong. Sure, nto as strong as the newer MMORPG's, but the real question is how long will the new ones last, and will they be going as strong in a year or two?

Actually, City of Heroes was my first, to be technical. But that was last summer, and it was... different. I'd almost be interested in going back, but I still have memories of the frustration I had playing it back then.

Yeah, Lineage basically owns Korea and a lot of the Eastern countries. NONE of the MMORPGS have ANYTHING on any played over there.

With your newly-upgraded sniper sKiLlZ, he'll be dying a lot more I suspect.

afaik, Lineage II is really more of an overseas winner than a US winner. From what Ranger_D was telling me, it's heavily populated by the So. Koreans, who consider gaming a national pasttime, much in the way the US society considers football the same.

Pretty much all mmorpg's are like that! After 6 years of addiction, for the first time, I think I have a good chance of leaving mmorpg's for good! And I feel much better without it! But still, it's soooo hard when you have a lot of friends playing either WoW or SWG! They make sure to send me every little thing that changed on SWG since I left ... Now if beekeepers somehow started to play together a mmorpg, that most likely would be my downfall!
