I think the sword flying that Frankie is refering to is the warthog trick....

I hope so anyway...

I really enjoy pulling the "rocket lunge" off at times in a game Twisted Evil

I think that he is talking about the rocket lunge as it realy is a bit of a glitch that dosent belong in the game.

ok, i'd like to make a suggestion here, could we do a "create some tactics" event, where the more learned players would take some of us newbs around and show us exactly where things like sniper spots are, and where good routes to travel with the flag are and things like that?
then we could coordinate some strategies "i.e: if you're the warthog driver on waterworks, we'll take route X, drop your passenger off at location Y and proceed to point Z"
we could make it independant of clans, Evaders and Beekeepers alike

while i have managed to capture a flag about... oh two whopping times, i felt it was more through dumb luck and my teamates eliminating threats than it was my own skill
Headlong is a particularly frustrating map for me, i get very lost in those buildings, and why doesn't offense ever use their warthogs? i'd love to have someone show me some tactics on that map

on another, more comedic note, Friday night, we were playing waterworks, i was passenger in the hog, i think clayfoot was driving (might have been chappy though). At any rate, we drove to the front door, i jumped out, capped a couple defenders, grabbed the flag, and ran back out to find that the other team had descended upon the hog. It was pretty much total chaos at this point, as i tried to jump in the passenger seat, frantically hitting (X), when the enemy banshee driver tried to divebomb me. Well, everyone lagged and lurched a few feet and i found myself dropping the flag, and stealing the banshee! It was my one and only Banshee steal ever, a combination of an unskilled pilot and a laggy network! Laughing

Bungie says it will be retained in the offline (non-XBox Live) games, if you still want to do it for fun.

Ummmm... what tie resolution problems?

Far from it. One of the main reasons people cheat, apart from sheer stupidity and complete misunderstanding of their own insignificance in the universe, is so-called "rank whoring." Very soon, we will start a process to punish those folks directly, or rather, make their efforts more pointless. If it were up to me, pitbulls would fly out of their DVD drive and lock firmly onto their toilet parts for the rest of their lives. Luckily it is not up to me.

What's rank whoring?

tie resolution problems-basically in a tie, red team almost always is deemed the winner.

rank whoring-cheating to up your rank with numerous cheated wins.

I think both forms of sword flying will be gone...it has the potential for abuse, especially in head to head or objective games, so I suppose they just want to nip it in the bud.

A trick you folk may want to try (and one that I was just recently made aware of the usefulness of) is, once you have the flag, instead of merely running it, you jump and toss it (or just plain toss it in front of you). Not only will this move the flag further along, but it'll get you back to full speed to run back up and grab it. And if you've got enough people together, you can essentially daisy chain it along. Of course, this makes it clear where the flag is, but if they know what way you're going you may as well use it to speed the process along. You can also use this to great effect on Coag and probably waterworks by tossing it up and out through the roof to a waiting teammate, and on midship by tossing it to the center platform to a teammate, and then straight to the base (particularly helpful when you realize you can go right through the front window-where no one expects it).

Ah, that was an apologetic "sorry", as opposed to "sorry we took so long, red team". Gotcha... that makes me happy.

As for rank whoring, why give it a different name other than cheating? I'm not sure I see the difference, and why it deserves a "new" name.

Hi everyone. Perhaps I will be able to play again one of these days...I hopped on really quick to whatever incits group was doing last night, tried to communicate with you guys, got nothing, decided I was having headset problems of some sort and so jumped back off again Smile. I agree with you Nova (from many posts ago) that it seems like most of the time I get on, people aren't actually pl,aying a game, which is cool, but not what I'm looking for nowadays, being so busy. Anyhow, I hope to be on, tomorrow night or so...hope to play with you guys again soon. (I feel like that's all I ever get to post anymore...Sad)

I was talking with Sizeable Manowar today and we felt the same thing... If there was a plan of action, we could be so very good. I find myself hanging back and being defensive so as not to get in the way of those making runs. I'd be more than happy to jump up in the mix if I knew where the effort was being directed.

Just my two cents.

Rank whoring is also just the concept of caring too much about having a high rank; it doesn't require cheating/boosting.

As for Vash, did you guys tell him to shut up at all? I could not tell, so I left after he was booted (and the party mysteriously closed) because everyone immediately started talking about him in a negative fashion.

Whoever said Matt brought him in was wrong.

It was Quo Vadimus, Ermac and Fauxhammer (who btw is back from a recent trip to Mexico).

Anyways, he admits he can go over the top. But he'd appreciate someone telling him to shut up than taking cheap shots at him after he's been booted without warning.

In the postgame lobby, he was describing a death animation he saw after a snipe that he found interesting. He wasn't bragging about the kill.

Anyways, that whole night was kind of a slap in the face.

After all, all OUR team did (myself too at times) was sing the Mission Impossible theme the entire game, so I can't see how we weren't just as annoying...

In better news, If Delta Force: Black Hawk Down really does end up supporting 50 people in the same game, we are so getting it.

So that's why the party was closed the other day? I got a message from clayfoot to come in but the party was already closed when I logged on.

If anyone else here is playing Street Fighter Anniversary, let me know-I'm always up for some matches.

Yeah I was on his team and told him repatedly to please be quiet so we could coordinate. I was nice at first and slowly got more peeved.

I admit its possible he didn't hear me, given all the chatter.

My main problem is that he talked nonstop. I don't mind off-topic chatter, I'm guilty of it myself. But when I can't hear anybody else or make myself heard, and I'm playing an all-too-rare game that I'm really into, it's just a bit much.
