*poof!*

Nyeah, hocus pocus, I'm a bat!

*poof!*

[fumbles on glasses] Now, you wouldn't hit a bat with glasses on, would you?

*thwack!*

Anton P Nym was beat down by Bugs.

It must be nice to be able to survive on Legendary long enough to actually meet a brute. Embarassed
Yeah! I can't even get off of the station on legendary. I keep running out of ammo. I've even tried things like picking up every, single weapon in the previous bay, just to make sure they're still there when I use up whatever scarce ammo is in the next bay.

2nd pelican bay, right? What I did was just fire plasma pistol overcharges from a distance, followed by a battle rifle burst at the head...that usually did it. Course by the end I was damn near out of ammo, but as I understand it people also like to bring in a magnum from earlier in the level as a surrogate battle rifle, to help conserve ammo for that thing.

Don't bother trying to take down elite shields without the plasma pistol-it's not worth the bullets.

Especially if they're Spec-Ops. Overshield, woo.

Easily the hardest part of the entire game.

Kill elites and not brutes to avoid taking on six of elites at a time. Use PP/BR combo. Dual needlers can work too (though not as well).

I prefer running to hell past everything when your to the part where brutes are fighting Elites.
Works for me, they're all distracted with each other. I just pick off the random ones I see with no shield or low health.

Aye, if it's possible to hit the next load zone without firing a shot, do it.

I think that's what I've been doing. It's tricky to use the combo. It takes time for the PP blast to reach the target, and I get cut down if I just stand there and wait for it to hit. I have to aim, fire the PP, duck, pop out, aim again, then fire the BR. I admit this works to an extent, but I still end up running out of ammo or getting shot. I will try to disregard the grunts from now on, anyway.

Heh, how much did we end up skipping on co op, Jinxie, when I ended up running so far ahead?

That was insane. And useful!

We were able to skip the entire Civil War fight (the "Blow Me Away" scene) that broke out in the center of High Charity because you'd slipped through the doors while the enemies were loading, and we were able to skip several of the long walkways with fighting brutes and elites because I jumped onto the outer rim of the ceilingless rooms and just passed the entire area. All in all, we probably skipped about a third of High Charity Smile

Also, for everyone wondering about the update and measures taken to ban players using modded content, Bungie had this to say this morning:
SketchFactor wrote:
As promised, AU4 was released yesterday and includes a slew of anti-modding measures aimed at cleaning up the Halo 2 online landscape. In the past twenty-four hours, approximately 2,550 people have been permanently banned from matchmaking for using hacked or modified content online. Read on for more info as well as answers to a few questions...

The latest Halo 2 auto update was released over Xbox Live yesterday and will automatically download to your console the next time you try to play a game over Live. This update contains tools to detect and ban anyone who uses hacked or modified content online. Despite our ongoing warnings, there are people who insist on using hacks and to date 2,550 of them have been permanently banned.

There has been some speculation that the update was a bluff or that it didn't work as a number of players were still encountering modders online after getting the update. This is to be expected. Modders will still exist for a short time but once detected, they will soon be permanently banned as the new self-aware automated Banhammer starts swinging. Banned players will also potentially persist on the leaderboards for a short time following a ban from Live but will be cleaned out shortly afterwards.

Also, please note, that the Bungie Team will still be banning and dealing with people who use network manipulation to their advantage as well as people boosting. Also, if you used modded content prior to the AU and used it to climb the leaderboards you will still get stripped off the leaderboards and potentially banned from Live. Please continue to use the in-game feedback system to deal with behavior / poor sportsmanship issues.
Wow. 2,550 people in ONE DAY.

I Heart Bungie.

Try beating Outskirts without firing a shot on Legendary, easy, other then the fact of the one hallway moving you from thetown to the beach, have fun trying to beat down three or four elites by your lonesome.
