TONS o' phun last night guys Very Happy Can't wait until the next round. I noticed some serious improvements in game play from a few people and it was really nice to work with a team that communicated well to each other. The lag was a real pain. I think I'll be running that wire under my house now after all and dump my dumb wireless setup.

Being serenaded and told stories of cleansing face masks was also nice, though unexpected. Wink Razz

Clayfoot, I can't speak for Halo2, but I had a 2month trial period without a headset when I bought PGR2 and I could not hear anybody, no matter which option I tried. So, I'm assuming it works the same with Halo2.

Weephun, you were one of the guys I was seeing as a red bar (1) as a bad connection. I wonder if that's due to wireless set up. But then again, there were more guys I was seeing as a red bar.

i'm so jealous reading these after-match reports, it sounds like you guys are really having a great time!

i don't know when i'll be able to get my xbox now, the vet botched our cat's surgery so we had to take her to another vet to get her repaired! i never knew pets were so expensive

anyway, tonight i'm hanging out with a friend for the express purpose of playing Halo2 for the first time. he just got the game on monday, i can't wait

as soon as i get an xbox, i'm joining an ILB clan

Sorry I dropped out of training early last night. I don't have a headset, and I couldn't figure out how to get your voices to come through the speakers.

If you push start in game, or go to settings>edit profile you can go to a voice output menu. You should be able to set it to speakers only and be able to hear voice, I'm pretty sure, regardless of no headset. The way Bungie has it set now is a mix of headset and television speaker. Voice comes through the headset for team chat(pushing down the white button to talk), and through the television(proximity chat). The seperation is very helpful because most of the time the team is chatting on team chat and if you hear a voice on you television you know you are close to someone(an enemy most of the time).

Training was awesome last night. We defenitely have got the defense down. I know I can work on my offense a lot, but I rather enjoy just being a supporter...hanging back to make sure I can get enemy sniper positions, keep the enemy from heading to our base once we have the flag, etc...

There was a point when it was 2-0 and I was tired. I decided to go for the flag. I grabbed some active cammo and 4 of our team were on the enemy base roof. I got to the roof and said, go go go!!! It was like a tactical Navy Seal insertion. Four visible people drop down from the roof and start clearing while I drop down and grab the flag. I then drop to the bottom floor and head outside where our superb warthog man pulls up like we had telepathy going on and I hop in and we take off. Red team didn't know what hit them, and by the time they did know we scored.

There were som spectacular displays of cunning last night. People showing off some tricks they've picked up, trying new maneuvers, and just being wild(hitshermark trying to run down everyone in a warthog--it must've been the face mask Laughing ) Weephun had a superb move which totally got me by surprise. I see a red dot on my motion tracker right outside our base. Then it disappears so I think, ok, someone killed him. All of a sudden I turn and see and invisible guy right in front of me! BOOM!! a shotgun goes off in my face..Nice move to Weephun Very Happy

I think that we have coagulation down..all we need to do is work our offense a little bit. What a fun night that kept me entertained for a bit more than 2 hours(my bladder can attest to that).

See you all sometime
~Eclipse

** Note to self: Be sure to purchase Queen Helene Mint Julep Facial Mask in time for next match. **

I had a lot of fun, until I got kicked off. Apparently XBL doesn't like it when someone else in the house is on AIM. Rolling Eyes Prolly wouldn't have happened if they were using MSN. Laughing So when's the next one?

Hey, don't forget that when you guys scored, 2 from our team had just quit the game! Wink Not saying that was the reason you guys scored, but it was a lot more difficult to defend during that round!

About Coagulation, I think CTF games should have Return Flags turned off on this map, specially when it's 16-player game. Otherwise it just takes too long!!

Invisibility, crouch-walk, and a shotgun: 3 of a flag stealer's best friends Wink

One of my personal favorites.
Path from red base:
1 - grab ghost or banshee (for speed)
2 - grab shotgun from rocks just to front left of base
3 - grab invisibility from rocks around blue base teleporter
4 - drop out of vehicle just outside blue base
5 - crouch walk around and shotgun blast as many blues as possible
6 - grab flag and call for ride within ~5 sec of first kill so that you can get out of the base before blues start spawning all around you.

It doesn't always result in a flag capture, but it almost always at least gets the flag out of the base. Cool It's also nice as it doesn't require the sacrifice of too many teammates to get the flag out. Wink

Some information to the public and SPDR Ninjas about my gamertag, Kbach. I share it with my brother. When you see the BEE icon, then it's me. My brother has a Spade. Plus, my brother sucks, and I only suck sometimes. Even when I do suck, I don't suck as bad as he does.

Just thought I'd let you all know.

Did Angelo had a post-carnage debriefing? I left so I don't know if he made comments about what we did right and what we did wrong. It was a vast improvement, but I'm sure we can still get a lot better!

In other news: I LOVE BUNGIE! (I mean Bees...)
Foundation brings back everything I ever loved about Marathon and makes it eighty times prettier. If it hadn't been for Angelo being so freakin' good, I might've had more fun than is clinically withstandable by human lungs. So, thanks Angelo for possibly saving my life while simultaneously killing it six times. Meanie. Raspberry

That was a blast last night. It's so much more fun to play halo 2 when the other team isn't a bunch of jerks Smile. I'll go ahead and apologize to my CTF team for my poor CTF play, I don't know what it is about that game type, but I really just don't feel like I'm getting better. Maybe I'm just too slow Smile. Now slayer, on the other hand, I'm okay with...I feel like I improve with every game of that I play. And I felt so left out because I didn't have a Tuliper Mintacular vibrating organic mud mask (name made up to protect the innocent, or something...). Maybe that's why I'm not very good at CTF....or not. I remember commenting after we scored that we only needed half of there team to drop out to score Wink. That, and we really needed to end that game because I had to pee.

Sorry I had to leave in the middle guys. Sounds like you had fun. I was getting constant messages like "WE NEED YOU!" so I ran off to play some clan matches. After 3 switches, I ended up joining an all-female clan. We're currently under the umbrella of a huge clan made up of multiple smaller clans in the gaming group I'm in for Halo 2. If you play UWA, that's us.

Coagulation is probably my best map, and I've been playing CTF on Live for years (Mechassault, Crimson Skies, etc), and it's the most common game type on the clan Optimatch system, so I felt pretty confident I could leave without missing *too* much. What I need help with is basically Slayer tactics. How to snipe, how to kill someone else before they kill you, work on the less-commonly used/more complicated maps, etc.
