Yah, I really like the new stat "flag steals". A lot of times, the person who gets the flag out of the base and then dies on the way back to base is much more important to the score than the person who picked the flag up halfway and finished the score (though one definitely couldn't do it w/out the other). Nice to see some credit given to the flag stealers.

Hee! That was so much fun.

I love running in to the base and just grabbing the flag, no preamble, and all the enemy team going, "Whuh? krystyn???" and then I die. And then I am totally on the headset mic, yelling out where the flag is. I am also getting better at covering on the flag carrier, and at least getting shields down on 3 or 4 other dudes, so that someone else can finish them off.

Great fun. You guys are truly awesome to play with.

Pistol Whip was fun, esp. when I was able to snap Nova's head back like a Pez dispenser.

my personal favorite moment from last night was the disinformation spread in a major clan single flag CTF on Zanzibar.

Basically we decided to screw opening the gate, and would throw the flag through it instead. But, we all ran around their base yelling on proximity chat about how we had to get the gate open, everyone swarm the gate switch, etc. Not sure how much of a difference it made in the end, but hearing the other team scream to each other "they're going for the gate! guard the switch!" really amused me.

That and having 8 of us swarm into a 3 person beekeeper slayer match unannounced Smile

sniff sniff... I love you guys! My individual levels are really lacking development cause almost all I do is play against/with clan members.

Hi everyone.

That was fun.

Krystyn, sorry about those first two kills -- for some reason, I was convinced I was blue, and saw you (red) and just instinctively fired. Twice.

I had just, for my very first Halo 2 multiplayer experience, come from a quickmatch rockets-only game and was a little jumpy.

The third time I approached you, by the way, it was very funny to hear you saying, "No, no, no" in the tone of voice one would use with a large and possibly dangerous dog. Razz

I wasn't too disappointed with how I played, considering, (I wasn't last, and that's all I really cared about Smile ) although I really need to learn the maps, I think (I felt very disoriented...dizzy...woozy..). More importantly, I think, I need to play through the campaign again to learn to walk with these controls. I played Halo with a look sensitivity of 5, but Halo 2 still seems overly sensitive to me. Kali and I raced through the campaign on co-op, but I think I was mostly depending on her, and I need some practice before I can hold my own. I can't seem to aim well while walking anymore.

I have to say, though, that I *hate* the new Banshees. You can't hover, the whole view and field of vision is different, it's difficult to change your height...why did they change it? I *loved* flying the Banshee in Halo. Anyone have any tips? Oh well, I'll just stay away from the Banshees in multiplayer.

I definitely need some more training (and a headset...). I played Halo multiplayer once, at a party with 16 people, but it was a little easier because we were all in the same apartment, so we could see our teammates screens and talk to each other a little more easily. Not being able to talk to you guys was frustrating.

Nova, your accent rocks. Water10, talk louder. Smile

I miss the 'hover', too. But try some of the tricks they installed - with the flips and the rolls, you can be just as effective as you were in the original with the hover function. For a back flip, press 'back' on the left thumbstick and tap 'A'. For rolls, press right or left and tap 'A'.

Luck,
Mike

But does that work with the Legacy/Boxer setup?

I'm not sure honestly... i think clan, but not an official clan match. Could be wrong though. General insanity ensued with constant team switching by all involved.

And Phaedra, I miss the hover too! That and the big green snotball of doom. I prefer using the banshees to airdrop myself somewhere and for quick transport now rather than real combat.

you can hover by default... if you don't move, the banshee will hover with a slight forward movement (in Halo 1, it was a slight backwardmovement - there was never a full out hover in one spot). Pulling back now allows you to lower... they just basically switched from the Halo 1 version (back to hover, fall by default) to this version (hover by default, back to fall)...

I've really got to get online earlier in the evening... I only usually meet up with a couple of people for an hour of gaming around 11 or 12 ET... I want to play with everyone else too Smile blah! why am I always so busy in the evenings ... *sigh*

I think I might be getting a little better though... sometimes I manage to be 2nd behind angelo on team slayers... Smile but a few games I managed to end up with 2 or 3 kills... pathetic... but I still laugh at myself when in a frantic face-off with someone and it's like I can look everywhere BUT the frickin target... stupid thumb! train already!

Really? I stopped moving...and fell.

No, I guess there was never really a full-out hover, but in Halo, you could point the banshee down and just hold a backward movement, and you'd stay in one spot, nicely positioned to rain down fire and brimstone...er...green snotballs of death and doom...upon those below.

Now, yes, when I pull back I move down.

Heh heh. Heh heh heh - part of that, too, was that angelo kept freaking FINDING me, and he'd say, all polite-like, 'hey, krystyn. I'm right behind you. hello!' And it would freak me out, because how did he do that??? and then I'd try to kill him, and then I'd re-spawn, and you'd be there, and I'd be all, "no no no! I just re-spawned, dammit!" and then suddenly, there were beekeepers everywhere, and my nerves were just about shot. Heh heh heh. That was awesome, but totally stressful.

One of the best moments I had on the first or second day I was playing on Live, I was running along in Coagulation or Zanzibar, and I found myself running next to Nova. Spastically, I cried, "HI, NOVA!" and calmly, he said, "G'day!" and then we started killing things. I think it was right then that I knew that Live-playing was gonna be ten million stuck grenades of fun.

I could hear you, Waters, but not very loudly. I know you must've heard me cursing you out. Very Happy

Actually if you notice, when looking down and pulling back, you'd be rising slowly... holding back always had you moving slightly backwards regardless of you direction...

Yeah, now that I think about it, you're right...I just was able to compensate fairly well. Oh well, I'll figure it out.
