I look forward to playing 'em. Custom gametypes are what'll keep the game interesting for a long time to come. Very Happy

Last night before anyone else was on Dasro, Angelo, and myself were running around one of the levels figuring out some new tactics, as well as trying to find a "Secret spot" that bungie uses to psych people out in oddball games. Well, in the course of this Dasro and Angelo came up with a brilliant spot. We tested it out with Anton, KaberA, and someone else on the opposite team, sorry I don't remember the 3rd person. It was defenitely tricky to pull off while others were shooting at us, but we got it eventually. What ensued was bewilderment of the other team saying "How the hell are we gonna get up there?" to themselves while looking up in the air. It was a spot where they couldn't get to. They were so distracted that they weren't checking their radar and we could easily assassinate them.

All I've got to say now is Bring it on Bungie! Laughing

I had a lot of Halo 2 fun today. Early on in the afternoon, I hooked up with Dasro Kast, and let me tell you, two Beekeepers in Matchmaking can be fun.

Ol' Vortech tried to hop in the tumbler with us, but Matchmaking had a fit when he tried to play, so he let it be for today. Hopefully it'll quit playing with his emotions and let him join us in our fun.

Then I hooked it up with the bigger portion of Beekeepers this evening... It. Was. Fun.

I have to give props to Nova's excellent custom games, Pistol Whip and Near and Far. Both very fun, Marathon-esque game settings I could get really used to. Inspiring, so much so that I'll be making my own to try on you next week...

Also, I have to reminisce that the two games in which swords were abundant, I got more than my fair share of "Sneaky Snucks", "Snickety-Snacks", and "Not-So-Sneakys" (remember that one, Krystyn... Wink ) so much so that I won't be very vocal for a few days.

And for crying out loud, please call me TridenT. I know the gamertag says RokaR on it, but the word doesn't even sound cool unless said by Ahnuld, circa Conan the Barbarian, so just.. don't. (And when I find the son of a mother Censored who took the name 'trident' in the first place, he and I are gonna have words... Evil or Very Mad )

Yeah, man, that was a heck of a lot of fun. It's nice to take a party into a matchmade game, because then at least you know you have member on your team who aren't total dumbasses Very Happy. That minor assault game on midship was especially fun, especially after the game when the BBoitano guy was going off for his team not playing with teamwork, he had all these kills, blah blah blah. First of all, It was more like he was trying to be a sword-whore vigilante and not wait for his team than anything else. Second, I think he forgot the game was assault, not Slayer. THIRd, his gamertag is named after a figure skater. Seriously, now. Who picks that gamertag?

Sorry about calling you Rokar a couple of times. I couldn't seem to stop myself. The thought process that kept happening was (must saying trident must say trident must say trident) "ROKAR" (DAMMIT!).

Working after that on team ball strategy with Angelo and Eclipse was cool too. Now if we could just get a chance to take that online. And of course the team slayer matches late last night were a blast.

Anyhow, I'll say it again, playing with all you Ilovebeeers (That looks alot like beers...) has been a blast in a half. I have never had this much fun playing online multiplayer, ever. Before this, I was actually a big "I'll never play online anymore, there's too many stupid kids" proponent, but you guys have definitely changed my mind. I used to have seriously 1 person on my friends list, and I've had XBOX live for about over a year and a half...now I have about 32 and growing. Cool.

Gee, after waiting so long to get an invite into the party, I'm sorry I got disconnected so early. Turns out, all I ---I mean, my brother--- had to do was unplug the router and plug it back in again. My brother (who is in no way the same as me) found that out when he called the ISP's tech support line this morning. My brother can be such a dope!

Likewise. I was having trouble getting an invite when I was available, and I was getting some invites when I was not available. Really, I blame this all on my brother.

Oh, yeah, that's actually a good thing to know. If ever you have 'getting on the internet' trouble, and your connection goes through a router, the very first thing to try is either unplug/replug the router, or use a paper clip or something to press the Reset button on it.

Hey Angelo,
Did you ever get that demolition derby custom game we talked about to work? I know we spent a while having fun playing around with the wrthogs and ghosts, and of course the tank mating rituals and spartan BBQers stuff was hilarious. unfortunately, I had to go soon after cause my local friends were having a Halo 2 get togehter instead of our usual D&D night. we played until about midnight and had a blast. Not quite the same as the online stuff here with ILBers, theres less proximity and team chatting it seems since not everyone has head sets, but still fun. Anyway see ya'll around live today.

Yeah, right now I'm just using Halo as a break from writing papers and studying for exams so I don't have time to really troubleshoot it. I tried a direct connection to the cable modem and that helped a lot. So the problem is either the hub or the airport base station. (which really does not make sense since I forwarded the XBL ports directly to the xbox's ip, but whatever)

The beekeepers were in invite only games so I didn't get to really test this workaround but I tried a big battle and the connection seemed to hold up so I have an annoying but functional workaround. Now I just have to deal with wandering down to the (com) closet and disconnecting the rest of the house every time I want to play. Good thing I live alone.

Anyway, if y'all get a good setup, send it in to bungie.net. They're taking suggestions for new setups to put in rotation for the ranked games. It would be cool to have a beekeeper set up there. Maybe even have a inside reference to ILB in the name.

Where do you go on bungie.net to submit 'em? I just renamed Pistol Whip to Facehole. Very Happy

Well, it was interesting yesterday, to be sure. I have to issue an apology to Kali, as I called her name correctly fine until the last name, when it was like a switch was thrown and I went the other way. I know better, honest!

Had fun with the sword, although over all the games, Kaka5hi beat me down more than I did to others. I swear he hunted for me with that thing. Smile

Well hope to see you guys online before I go Liveless for a week... Sad

Any possibility for some new team games like assault? I have a feeling we will need a bit more work on team aspect, I know I have to learn that it is ok to talk while playing...

I'm guessing the "optimatch" section of the b.net forums. Here?

Got it all set up, but haven't had a chance to test it out yet...

Anton P. Nym, Waters10, krystyn, and everyone else: GREAT games tonight! Those "all swords on the map but you start with plasma rifles" King of the Hill games on Midship were a stroke of genius (albeit somewhat accidental). Wink
