Headsets

Just out of curiousity... how many of you guys have headsets? Sometimes I feel like I shouldn't be in one of the team skirmish setups without one, like there's some big plan I'm not understanding.

I have a headset, and it makes the game experience a lot better. For one thing, it's good to be able to communicate with your team and tell where enemies are, call for help, etc. If you don't have a headset, then you can't really provide any productive information and you're left on your own.

Plus, it's just fun to be able to talk to other Beekeeprs. We've had many a good time when just talking.

Does Xbox Live tell you if another person doesn't have a headset? I'm wondering if people are screaming at me all the time and thinking I'm deaf or ignoring them...

In the pregame lobby, people without headsets have a little speaker with a box around it. People with a headset just have a speaker.

you should still be able to hear others speak over your tv speakers even without a headset. Check your audio settings in your halo 2 profile, that might help some.

Yeah, you would think so, wouldn't you? I have no headset. I have voice output set to "speakers only" in my Halo 2 profile and in my Xbox Live Friends settings. Still no voices.

definitely agree. Next time we need to make it a regular slayer game (instead of team slayer) so we can jack vehicles, but still be able to talk to every one.

I was a beta tester also, and had the exact same experience with Mechassault (ummm... Kitfox). I played with some really great guys (road, disco stu), but there were also some mechassault guys that I played with that were pretty nice, but had horrible language...

That's probably my favorite thing about playing with the beekeepers, it's a bunch of great guys and gals that I love to play with and I don't have to worry about every other word being composed of four letters...

note: I'm not condemning you if you cuss ... the guys that I had a problem with would embarrass a sailor Wink

Arghh.

I can purchase a headset, but the headset requires the xBox Communicator to work, and for some reason that no one seems capable of explaining to me, none of the Best Buys around here carry the Communicator.

Ok, confession time...

I need to apologize to the guys that were in the games with me last night. Krystyn, Fodder, Deviant, Vector, Decepticon, Dasro, NuBee... anyone else I don't remember.

I'm an extremely competitive guy, always have been, but over the last few years I've really been working on toning that down. Last night all my 'toning' got thrown out the window and I apologize for that. I wasn't in a great mood to begin with (and I shouldn't of been doing anything 'competitve' knowing that, since it just makes my mood worse), then not winning a single game did't help. Please, understand I was in no way upset with you guys for beating me, I was just ticked I was playing as wreaklessly as I was.

Then the gasoline for my already burning competitive spirit showed up. I don't take well to trash talk, and when I'm in a bad mood I don't react well to it either. I left quickly last night to avoid saying something I regret, but acting in the way I did is what most dissapoints me.

For that I apologize, and sincerely seek your forgiveness.
