I talked to melissa out of character!!! and more PM interact

Ah! i am so excited!, so.. all you lucky san francisco attendees are getting to meet the VA who played melissa and the sleeping princess and everything else. Well thanks to mad cow, he was able to convince her to call me from his cellphone, so she talked to me!, she recognized me from chat, saying she had stayed in #beekeepers and recognized me. I told her she did an amzing job and she even switched characters for me from my mad cow's cell so it ws definetly not much filters, real talent there. so after a minute conversation i got put on the phone back with the cow and i asked him one last question "Was she hot?" and he said "yeah... pretty dang hot" not the girl from the killer images though, at least that is what cow said. anyways, i am really excited... i will edit if there is anything else i remember!!!

EDIT: after some clarifaction of the characters, i talked to kirsten over the phone, so not jane, alrighty, bit confused i was on that, pretty excited to know all this. hi kirsten!

EDIT 2: After some questions about the final solve, i called mad cow who is chilling with the pm;s in san fran eating dinner and got to talk with kristen, sean, and the lead creator of the game who confirmed we found the final solve, i congratulated them all on the awesome game, (i can;t remember the lead creators name.. dumb cell is scratchy) but yes... they are all so physched, so one last rant
AWESOME GAME, thanks for the time!!!
i wish i had some amazing last words for such an awesome game, but please people leave your congrats to the team here!

Talking to Melissa (Kristen Rutherford) was a real treat. She's like a large lamp, and very full of energy and charm. I happened to be collecting a DVD/Lanyard for Dragonrider who could not attend any of the events and I wanted to get a signature from the PMs for Dragonrider, and as soon as I stepped up, I felt like I was under the lamp.

A bit dazed and doe-eyed, but my buddy Ranger_D kept giving me the "go ahead" look like I was doing ok, so I just kept talking.

It was even more shocking when after we talked for several minutes about the game and Dragonrider, she asked who I was and the lamp turned on again. Embarassed I thought for sure I was getting a little red, but no one seemed to have noticed.

Her husband seemed like a very nice guy, but I did not get a chance to talk to him very much. I actually tried to avoid dominating (read: talking at all) the PMs time, since there were so many people who wanted to talk to them.

Somehow I think I might have struck the right balance of respect, interest, attention and awe. It was definitely humbling to find that they remembered me among the many names they had to remember, and that they had something special to say to me about my involvement in their story.

Very touching. Smile

I also got to talk to Jane, Sean and Elan.

Also, if I recall correctly, Jim Stewartson was there only briefly and had to leave immediately: His wife was in labor. And a mere 2 hours later the call came in that he was the brand new father of a baby boy.

Congratulations!

(And please, someone correct me if, in my late and extremely exhausted state I have mis-typed the name of the person I saw for all of like 1 minute Razz )

I'll say more tomorrow. I enjoy talking to them all, and don't want to put one member of this fantastic team above anyone else.

I had an incredible time last night. Thank you, fellow SF Beekeepers!
Others can post all the interesting stuff about the game that we all learned. I posted my story here, which is intended to convey how I feel and the impact last night (and this entire game) had on me.

I believe the baby was 9 lbs. *mumble* oz. Smile

Talking to Melissa (Kristen Rutherford)

This explains a lot. When I spoke to the SP and told her my name, she didn't ask how to spell it or anything and got it right on the website. I always wondered about this. Not many people get it right. She's a Kristen, so that explains everything. I get called Kristen, Krystyn (and I'm sure krystyn gets this a lot too), Kiersten, Kristina, etc etc etc constantly.

For instance, see Troy's spellings of her name in his post above. Wink I guess there was some confusion last night too. Siege told me someone was calling her Kirsten, and he got all confused thinking it was me.

Yes, I was greeted with a "weephun, you rat bastard!" followed by a huge smile and a hug! It was great. I've got family over right now, but I'll get a large post up later.
