Considering I thought I saw Sean wearing one, if not another PM, I think they're at least tolerated

Question Unfortunately, I don't think I'll make it. My question:
You [the PM's] have the previous experience of running not only the first, but probably also the most successful ARG ever. Did the community's response to and proficiency at this game meet your expectations? Were there times when you thought "the Cloudmakers would have had this solved by now!"? Or was it the opposite?
Thanks,
DD

Questions for the PMs:
Is the term 'Rampancy' actually named directly in the Halo 2 single player campaign as a stage that smart A.I.s go through?
How "canon" should we consider the I Love Bees story to be in relation to the Halo story, considering that Bungie gave you a certain amount of freedom with the franchise? Is it essentially expensive fan fiction or was there direct Bungie influence over the course of the game?

I won't be making it, but I have two possible questions:
1. What was with the phrase "consumate the truth." It seemed to generate a lot of talk, but I'm not sure how important it was. Did Melissa now that Durga shouldn't try to mess with the artifact?
2. Did you get any ideas from reading these boards? For example, I think someone brought up the idea of trying to talk with the SP when Melissa went into her crazy "i love bees" phase at the end of calls. Then, during the next round of axons, that actually worked. Was that always planned?
Thanks to anyone who asks these!

The term "rampancy" is culled directly from the three novels. It is known that after approximately 7 years AIs essentially get "too smart for their own good" and begin to self-destruct. It is all explained in great detail in the novels, which IMHO are highly recommended reading.

Question for PMs:
It has been widely relayed on the forums how emotionally connected players became to some of the characters. How emotionally connected did the PMs become to the players? Feel free to free-form your answer as you see fit.

Question for the PMs:
Did all of the PMs read all three novels? Was this required? Or did you receive a condensed storyline from Bungie/MS prior to planning The Hive?

Question for the PMs: (Sorry I keep thinking of new ones after I hit submit!)
What auto-dialer/auto-answer system was used to place the voice-prompted pre-recorded calls? Was the software for said system custom built specifically for The Hive, or merely an off the shelf package?

Since it looks like I won't actually be able to connect to IRC ever,
Q: Although we kind of got a little farther than most people with the whole "Myriad Wise Men" thing ( ), how the heck do you secure something like this? How do you cover your tracks and make sure no one can trace your activity - especially Jane's awesome uber-spying - back to you? Is it a big deal if someone "pulls back the curtain", in respect to who's PMing the game and/or how they're doing it?
I can't think of a better way to say this cos it's 4 AM, but it's still a good question

That's actually incorrect as none of the three novels ever mention the word "rampancy". The origin of the term Rampancy when it comes to A.I.s actually extends to Greg Kirkpatrick's writing in the original Bungie FPS game Marathon. The three Halo novels only allude to the previously mentioned thinking-to-death, but never give it the name that was used in I Love Bees.

Hey guys, I'm not going to be able to make the chat because I'm home-hunting in Boise, so if someone could try to at some point ask this for me, I'd be really appreciative. If not, no worries, I know a lot of people want questions answered.
Q: The motif of bees is just short of overbearing throughout the whole of the game, and it wasn't until the final chapter of the drama that it was revealed to be based around one of Yasmine's memories. At what point in brainstorming or conceptualization did the connection of these two ideas come into existance?

Barring an act of God, I won't be at the chat...
If somebody could let them know that I'm sorry for any stress or trouble I caused concerning the note I found taped to one of my axons...
I'd appreciate it.

The irc.chat-solutions.org is an IRC server. Connect to it using any IRC client, and join channel #apocalypso. Or, use the ARGN chat, it connects there as well.

Heh, Chat-solutions' main webpage has been down for quite a while. You can use the browser-based applet here . Unless you're behind some sort of firewall, this is by far the easiest way to connect. Just enter a username and away you go.
