[PUZZLE]: Dots

From the background of http://www.lessonstolearn.net/dream.swf :

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/files/dots.jpg

It doesn't appear to be a constellation. It doesn't look like anything, really, except for a random collection of little square dots.

Let's get solvin'.

not sure if i remeber this right...was there a puzzle in MU where you overlayed a GIF onto text and letters that you could see (through the trancparency in the gif) spelt something?

Hmm, well there was the tapestry, which was based off the betamaze font. I don't remember anything else that involved images+letters. A lot of it was images->ideas->words.

I don't remember an MU puzzle that worked exactly like that. You may be thinking of the post-game puzzle krystyn made to drive us all crazy, where the solve led to a bunch of gifs with words distributed over a transparent background. Putting them together on top of one another made a hinty poem.

I also remember something like the puzzle you're talking about from yanka's puzzle trail of a while back...is this it?

Well I don't have the ability to try it on this computer, but what about an overlay of the six dots on the text for a six-letter word?

Wow, I, ah, somehow managed to miss this until just now:

If I sat still and rubbed at each eyelid hard and long enough, the fire would recede, and I'd get swarms of red and green (alternating washes) of geometric digital chaos. So weird, right, to get that sort of mathematical dance inside the lid of a human eye cavity? The wash of squares, set inside each other like a Russian nesting doll, coming forward and blooming, fading into that red-brown, washing away until I am left with my sore eyes, my grimy fists, the sun, the playground, my own thoughts and quiet.

Of course that's what it's referencing. Wow, I'm *really* slow. Also, neat!

(Hi all, first post.)

The only part of the animation that doesn't look like particles flying around is the group of concentric circles that forms on the top left quadrant. At one point there are four circles. On the third circle, an arrow appears on the left side, pointing counter-clockwise. Maybe a reference to Earth, the third plant? Then the circles shrink and the attached image pops up. It's hard for me to get a capture since my computer seems to stutter and not play that part of the sequence smoothly.

I don't think this is meant to be done on the theglassislove page, because the paragraph flow changes with how wide your browser window is.

*blink*

Wow! Heh. The colors are different, though, so I wonder ... no, that must be what they're referencing. Hee. I didn't catch it because I actually used to do that when I was a kid - rub my eyes until I saw those patterns. And it wasn't quite like that page, really, so I didn't make the connection. That's really cool.

So uhm, is there really still a puzzle in that flash or is it just a visualization?

I've been through it several times without result.

Sweet. My favorite Dina dream. Still gives me chills.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"the other side of this wall" is clickable and links to thewalls.html.

Having explored it a bit, I...wow. Awesome. Anyone have any bread crumbs I could borrow? Maybe a ball of string?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Also, missing letters.

Ooh, is it new thread time?
