Nope. If I had a digicam, I'd take pictures. I already got kicked out of Best Buy for trying to return it before the release date.

Could you copy the letter?
.. and why would you *return* it? I didn't play MP1, but I'd still play a free copy if it was sent to me

Imagine my surprise when i got home from classes to find a letter from Athena Astronautics. The letter read as follows:
Dear Applicant:
Congratulations! You are one of the very first applicants to have "seen the light" by responding to the Athena Astronautics monster.com job post with wit and creativity. Your reward is the opportunity to assume the role of Samus Aran famed bounty hunter and defender of justice in Nintendo's new Metroid Prime 2 Echoes video game, playable only on Nintendo Gamecube.
We hope you enjoy leading Samus through this all new challenging first person adventure. It will test your reflexes, problem solving skills, and resolve. We are confident you are up to the challenge.
Best of Luck!
Bill Davenport

I figured, "hmph. i knew it was just going to be an advertisment." Only to look out what else i received and find a copy of the game. To put it mildly, i freaked out. I've been psyched about this game for a while...and to get it early...it's awesome. Haven't got a chance to play it yet - i only got home from classes about 15 minutes ago.

what? ...great. I wasted tons of time on this, and a few people who happened to apply to the job app got the game. God damn it. Great promotion, Nintendo - you showed that people who try to figure out things like this are chumps.

Hey, I was one of the last to send in a letter, and one of the first to respond with my address because the rest of you were too chicken. Don't be mad at us, I was in this simply for the pleasure of solving the puzzles. I didn't expect to get a game. I don't even own a GameCube.
You played the ARG, that's all you should expect. I was more hopeful that I'd get another clue.
God, the responses here just make me sick.

I didn't spend a lot of time on it, but still... I guess I wasn't creative enough to get a reply.
Jerks.

Well, the problem is, you and at least one other person got the prize even though NONE of the puzzles are actually solved. What's the login on Orbis Labs? What is "Iris"? What happened to the AIM folks? Where is Mackenzie King's new Blog?
The thing is still one giant question mark, with people trying to crack codes on three separate websites with almost no clues... but you got rewarded for simply sending a single e-mail to a suspicious-looking gmail address.
(Note that the ire here is not at you, but at the people running the game. This is a bad way to run.. well, anything, really. The entire ARG should not be a decoy)

That's why I said I would rather have a clue. Then I could continue playing a game that I could play, not some GameCube game that I can't.
I want to play the ARG, and it's offensive that some of the people here are pissed because they didn't get a game. So what? We never knew going into this that we'd get mailed copies of Metroid, I just wanted to play the ARG, and I still do!
I still say I'd much rather get a clue then this game.

Hey, i don't think the ARG is over. There's way too much stuff, like KA being online, which would have been pointless otherwise. My theory is that the ARG will kick into more high gear once the game is actually released.
The beginning of the game is great by the way. I love the fact that when you scan something, it changes colors. It has already removed a lot of frustration.
And Samus's suit looks incredible.
So don't give up just yet....and i'm going back to play some more.

Hm.... okay, then...
Could the clues to the ARG actually be *in* the game? Could that be the reason for the early release?

I'd like to point out that this is all stuff that can be learned by simply playing the demo.

Well, I just applied and within 5 minutes, I got a reply back from the AA gmail account asking for a forward address.
If this is true and I get a copy of this game early...I'm going to be so happy...

I don't know why you'd think that we would make something like this up. I didn't play the demo, so i don't know what to tell you to convince you otherwise, and I don't want to spoil anything.
I guess it doesn't matter whether or not you believe us. Let's just keep working on the ARG - i'm sure it'll continue.
