well, some people seem to think that the people who received discs were actually just getting demos. i know, there was like 3 people here who claimed to get the actual game, but getting demo discs seems more likely to me. i'm sure nintendo is sitting on a bunch of extras, and it gives people a cool disc to tide them over until the game comes out this week. that just seems more plausible than a couple select people who sent out an email getting a $50 game early with hardly any effort.

Uh-huh, whatever.

so i'm not sure, i'm not saying people who received discs are lying or are misleading us, but it is a possibility. people who have been following this ARG closely and have been a huge part of it would be getting discs in the mail and be posting here and showing some definite proof. all i've seen is a couple claims from some unfamiliar faces that say they got a retail game. it is not hard to show proof, and i have seen none. sorry. until i see it, enjoy playing your demos.

Oh, you're not saying that we're lying? Funny, I got a distinct impression otherwise. And "unfamiliar faces"? You look pretty unfamiliar to me, buddy. And I've been here a long time.

Sorry, you may be fortunate to own a digital camera, but not all of us do. I had to borrow mine from work. Look in my above post, you jerk, and see your ****ing proof.

Quote:
oh, the game comes out this week, as early as today. so its kinda hard to tell if people actually got it last week or just went out and bought it today if someone does decide to take a picture or something.

Uh-huh. Whatever makes you feel better at night.

I'm seriously offended. Why would I lie? What kind of cause, if any, would I have? To make you jealous? You know what, I came to play an ARG, and you people are so hung up on this stupid material BS. You make me sick.

Anyway, your proof is above. The game is still in it's original packaging (without a retail sales tag, I might add. You might recognize these as the impossibly hard to get off white stickers on top of games used by retail stores for inventory), with the letter, the bubble-wrap it came in, the folder. In full vivid color.

So **** off. Evil or Very Mad

thanks, now was that so hard? you're right, i did disbelieve you. even if i got a copy of the the game myself, it is an absolute horrible way to run a contest. it pays off no hard work. people who have been playing this game for the past month have nothing to show for it, and the ARG is completely unsolved, with more questions than ever. someone could have seen the monster.com app and filled it out without even knowing much about the ARG and get a prize, while others go unrewarded. lots of people were upset. i was planning to buy the game anyways, and i had no idea there would be any prize involved from the start, but now that i see how they went about giving them out, it is rather unfair IMO.

yes, we're unfamiliar to eachother. i'm new at this board. sorry i didnt realize you've been playing this game every nite for the past month like me and many others have been. i'm glad someone who has been playing for a long time got rewarded, i really am. (not being sarcastic).

aight i'm done, enjoy yer game and i'll enjoy mine when i pick it up this week. and by the way, i dunno where you shop but just as a side-note, stickers come off extremely easy. at least where i purchase my games, because i'm always taking them off for gifts or whatever. lots of stores don't even sticker them all the time, cause they're locked in a case. but thanks for snapping photos of the whole package, that was really cool what they sent out.

There.

Here's proof for you disbelievers. Now stop calling us liars, you jerks.

Awesome. Thanks.

Now...to await my package. I hope its the same. Surprised

It does suck that not everyone could get it though. =\

Interesting too. If you google the phone number on the package you come up with Pims Inc. Guess that's the PR company in charge of this.

One more question, Nuduo...What did the email back to you saying you were accepted look like? This is what they sent me...

That's the same e-mail I got. I still haven't received anything in the mail, though. (Then again, I don't know how this apartment complex handles packages too big to fit in the rather small mailboxes).

well i'm personally just skeptical by nature, which is compounded by the fact that i have been also participating from the very beginning, and have gotten nothing. yes, it's just material bullshit, but like eskimo said, no work is required to get a copy of the game. some guy could just stumble on it and get a copy, while i have sent four emails to them, with no response. i already pre-ordered a copy of the game, but i collect all the weird stuff that's hard to find. this would have been a very nice addition to the collection (the box and letter), but i guess, oh well....

very cool though. just wish they'd accept my emails Sad

EDIT: and off goes email number 5...weee....

Hehe. I got my package today... except the disc doesn't work on my GameCube cos I'm in Australia. Now it's just sitting there taunting me... Something interesting to note, on the bottom of my letter from "Bill Davenport" it says 5/25. I guess that means only 25 copies of the game are available for the competition.

Now I have to wait until December until I can buy myself a copy Sad

Yeah, I could use a free MP2... I mean, they've got to know my name!

It's just not cool, Pims, Inc. Not cool at all.

Edit: Hey, if you want to, you can mail that to me. I'll pay shipping!

two job posts

ok, everybody most have noticed this.....there are two job posts on monster by athena. when i had first looked at them, i thought they were identical. However, i went through them today and found a small difference. Under job category, one says 'Aerospace/Aviation/Defense' and the other says 'Computers, Software'. i dunno if this makes any difference but i thot id note it.

Considering that they were posted on the same day, I doubt it makes a difference. The info in them are the same, except their categories. Which I understand, if you want someone to find a posting, you don't want to bury it under all the millions of other crap jobs Monster.com offers. Laughing

Just wondering.

No, this is what I was sent.

Quote:
Dear Ms. Arious,

Your background is very impressive, so let me be the first to congratulate you and wish you the best in tackling the exciting journey that lies before you.

Your role as Bounty Hunter will be quite challenging, and the adventure will morph you to a whole new world and level of action previously unseen.

Our training department requires a mailing address so that we may send you a software program that presents the tools and strategies needed to embark on this journey. The mission begins November 15, however, yours may begin sooner if we receive your information in time.

If you have any colleagues that you feel are up to this challenge, you are welcome to forward them my contact information. However, space is limited, so early applicants are given priority. The galaxy could use more aspiring heroes like yourself.

Best regards,

Bill Davenport

Ahh, I guess you sent them a direct email instead of going through monster.com?

And, cool, you got the first one. Very Happy I got the last. Which is fine by me.
