Just received my package. My letter was numbered 14/25.

Perhaps they weren't sent out in sequence...

It's meant to represent the general spiritual nature of mankind... you know... apes with their eyes sewn shut.

I've got way too much time to philosophize (hence the hours devoted to this whole thing)

HELL YEAH

I originally sent this email on Nov. 13

Subject : Bounty Hunter

William Davenport,

I am writing to you regarding the places advertised at Athena Astronautics. I would really like to be recruited into this program that you have started. It seems to me that everything on your website is the glaring truth, and that it really is the future of mankind. I believe that I am well qualified to do the tasks desciribed for the job. I have had three years of advanced weapons training, including all sorts of body armor, with the US marines. While their technology may not be as advanced as that which Mackenzie King describes, I have always been comfortable handling weapons and a quick learner. I am not at all scared of using new technology, no matter how 'alien' it may seem. I have also been doing gymnastics since I was a child. I have no experience in piloting of any kind, but am quite confident that I will be able to handle it. I have also experienced weathers that are most extreme, having lived in Canada (cold) and Switzerland (mountainous). I am currently living in Saudi Arabia (desert).
However, I am sure that there are many people that are as qualified as me. I think what really sets me apart from the others is my desire to do this job and my belief in the cause. As is proved by The Drake Equation and numerous other examples (e.g. Billy Meier), I don't think that we are alone in the universe. If we ever encounter other species, we should be ready for the worst as well as being ready to offer a helping hand. I have no fear other than that of being forced to watch injustice done to others. I am willing to risk grave dangers and hostile environments for the greater good.
Wise men once wrote "Time wanes with our souls, yet hope remains." I believe that this applies to the human hunt for other races in the universe.

I eagerly await a quick response,

however, i got no response from this and therefore got pissed and sent another mail on Nov. 18

Subject : ikjedfsss/channel51

I am very interested in gettin a job at Athena Astronautics and have been following the company's progress for some time. I originally learned about some weeks ago from www.channel51.org, a site which I have been staying up all night to follow for several weeks now. I would like to add that I am a famous bounty hunter and have passed all the most recent simulations with flying colors. The most famous one, the November 2002 version (entitled Metroid Prime), I have completed 100% in under 7 hours. I would gladly reply to any and all queries that you may have about my personal information or mailing address. Please accept my application and, if possible, send me the very latest version of these training simulations. I believe that I can use it to further my skill and in doing so, your company.

Please reply soon,

Well, I just sent a follow-up email to them. Original contact was sending them my resume through Monster.com. This was to see if they had gotten it, and to tell them a bit more about myself. I also tried to blend in some of the weapons, like Ice Beam, Wave Beam (which aren't in MP2, from what I've seen Sad ), grenades and the Dark Beam (from previews of the game)

Hopefully, my creativity will be rewarded with at least a reply. I still doubt that the game is over. There was no real game to begin with.

I just got a reply, but I'm so embarassed! I sent out an e-mail on Saturday, but didn't get a reply so I sent a follow-up on Wednesday, and I just got an e-mail from them saying that they replied on Tuesday... I found it in my trash; apparently I thought it was spam Embarassed

I had a lot of fun with mine Smile

Mr Davenport,
I just thought I would send a follow-up to my previous job application
and to make sure you received it, since it has been a few days. Please, I don't want to sound desperate, but I am just so excited at the
prospect of such a job as a bounty hunter. Looking at the application
you posted on Monster, it just seems like the kind of job where I would
be in my prime. Yes, I do believe that there is a future for us in
space, and there are other creatures out there that are pretty much the sam eas us .A s ran dom as that seemed, I believe that being a bounty hunter and having a fantastical imagination for science fiction scenarios almost like those straight out of video games go hand in hand.

I eagerly await your response.

Dear Mr. Davenport,

I am applying for your job as a bounty hunter that you listed on
Monster.com (reference #0110110001101001011001110110100001110100). I was referred to your job listing by my good friend Justin Bailey, who I believe has worked with you in the past. He mentioned your name a few days
ago in a conversation and told me I should apply, and his words just kept echoing in my mind. I do admittedly have a rather mysterious past I am not quick to talk about, but I will not take light of my job. I have a love of seeking adventure and exotic locales, have a strong work ethic, and love a good challenge. I have a quick mind, have a knack for technology, and have great reflexes. I would love to work for you as a bounty hunter.
I eagerly await your response.

im SURE that i never got my reply.i had the address in my contacts list, and i checked all my trash and junk mail about 5 times a day to make sure that it never happened. also, there is the fact that it happened to TWO of my email accounts, which makes no sense. Plus, both of the replies to my second email found my inbox just fine. i have no idea what the reason for this might have been.

I sent mine on Sunday and it hasn't been even been viewed yet.

Oh, by the way, lakersfan, my Gamecube was under warranty when they replaced it, but you should just buy a new one rather than have it fixed for the same price (preferibly a bundle pack).

Took one full week, but my copy arrived today. It's numbered 9/25. (Sadly, the cardboard box and the note were slightly crumpled in transit).

(Side note: the game is a lot better than I feared it would be. I don't like first-person shooters, but this feels more like a third-person game)

that is exactly why i love this game, and the original prime. you are immersed because it is in first-person, but it is played like an adventure game. hence, FPA many people call it. I just cannot get over how detailed and extravagant the environments are. i mean....wow. i've never ever seen such beautiful design, artwork, environment, and puzzles. well, the first game was almost as good Wink

simply put, this game is amazing to look at and play. it's really a shame nintendo does not sell nearly as much as they used to because lots of soul ps2/xbox owners are really missing out.
