I think it's new...I seem to remember checking for "wongmore" during the dolphin-solving, but I might have checked for wongmore.html or something. Dunno.
[edit]Oh, the letters themselves aren't from MU.[/edit]

Also, if anyone's really confused, Leo Kane is an alter-ego of Wongmo. He wrote academic-ish papers on Wongmo, bolstering the identity and stuff. Phil found him out and tried to expose him.

Leo Kane wrote:
I'm not foolish enough to invite you to track me down at my new base of operations by giving you some telling hint in this letter...I'll give you a trail of breadcrumbs to follow.

Hee.

Those letters are awesome Smile Wolf and I were just waxing nostalgic over Wongo last night, over pizza.

And then we talked about Jo Burgess' jangly bracelets ... oh, wait. Wrong game. Very Happy

Just wanted to say kudos to Colin for being on the right track, and GWing for having the patience to actually work out those betamaze letters, I was working to correct the mistakes for a bit and I tell ya I am a wee bit buggy eyed....so I can only imagine what you were seeing at the end of the transcription.

So are the mailboxes with the numbers new?

No problem. I'm thoroughly literate in Betamaze now, thanks to the 3-hour boot-camp run by lessonstolearn.net!
