[OT] ILB Desktop Theme?

I wrote Dana/Melissa a few weeks ago and asked, but never got any kind of response.

What I really want is an ILB Desktop Theme for Windows.

Some 'corrupted' icons would be very cool, but I really want some of the sounds. I think having Melissa say "This medium is classified and has a Strong Intrusive Inclination. Make your decisions accordingly" at start up would be most excellent.

Problem is, there is so much backround noise most of the time, if you try to pull clips out, it sounds like ass.

Does anyone think we could convince the PM to give us some clean audio clips for a ILB Desktop theme?

This would be good for shutdown or empty recycle bin:

Seriously though, do people still use desktop themes? I thought they became extinct when XP was released.

Who knows? There might be one on the DVD... some kind of special part that you can access by slipping it into your computer...

Or maybe even an XBox Dashboard makeover? I'd love to see a distorted menu screen on Live, with the "I love bees..." chant/buzzing on my Friends list. [/wishful thinking]

God bless you, MS Sound recorder.

That quote is below, isolated. Perhaps someone with a more sophisticated sounds program can get some other good quotes?

I think a ILB theme would be the coolest thing ever!

I wish I had more free time...then I would be making this now. But alas, work and school always seem to stand in the way. Crying or Very sad

although, what's funny is that themes are mostly visual...

ilb is everything but visual Razz
there's text, and there's audio. Maybe a couple graphics from ilovebees.com. Enough to make a really cool theme? Confused

Aside from, of course, using fan-made media... Smile

Well, I was thinking you could take some of the icons from the site (like the bee), and maybe corrupt some of the standard windows icons like the ILB site was corrupted. The only other visual thing is a wallpaper, and I'm sure you could pull a good wallpaper together from the stuff on the site.

I've spoken with Elan, and if we can come up with a list of sounds we want, Elan will try to get them for us. This is a good opportunity and I don't want to waste it. (Aside: Hows that for not remembering wether Elan is male or female and being gender non-specific?)

So, basically, I'm asking for help. What sound bites do we want for certain events? Here are some of the events I think are relevant (And what I suggest for the event):

Asterisk:

Critical Stop: "Module Core Hemorrhage" - Melissa, Ch11 "module_core_hemorrhage"

Default Beep: "BEES" - Melissa (From her "I Love Bees" 'freak out' audio)

Exclamation: "Daaaaaamn" - Jersey, Ch1 "jersey"

Exit Windows: "Sorry, toots, for a quality experience, the girls have to be real." - Jersey, Ch1 "dizzy"

New Mail Notification: (maybe the Chatter ringing sound?)

Question: "I'm a very curious girl" Durga - (Can't seem to find this one but I seem to remember her saying it)

Start Windows: "Warning - This medium is CLASSIFIED and has a strong intrusive inclination" - Melissa, Ch11 "module_core_hemorrhage"

Empty Recycle Bin: "This message was not intended for you. Purge the contents of your chatter. - Melissa, "Disappointments"

Program Error: "I feel dizzy. Woozy." - Durga, Ch1 "dizzy"

Low Battery Alarm: "I'm thinking about going offline" - Kamal, Ch8 "going_offline"

Some optional ones:
Close Program: (Long wind down)

Open Program: (Long wind up)

Minimize Program: (Short wind down)

Restore Program: (Short wind up)

MSN Messenger New Mail:

MSN Messenger New Message: "Sofia sent leftovers"

MSN Messenger Contact Online: "Hey Soldier, is that an assult rifle in your hands or are you just happy to see me?" - Jan, Ch1, "hey_soldier"

Also, if any graphics wizards want to help with some default Icons/backrounds, that would definitely be appreciated. As evidenced by my orientation photo, I am NOT graphically inclined.

EDIT: Adding in other's suggestions to the list

Elan Lee is male. And you've got to find a place to use the tape wind-up and wind-down sounds. Mr. Green

Long wind up and long wind down could be program open and close.

While the short wind up and down could be window open and close.

a

I know this is about creating a theme package for Windows, but I just finished doodling around for my first time in GIMP and came up with this... any imput? Desktop maybe? I don't know, just thought this might be the place to put some creativity.

EDIT: Pic removed.

Not to be picky, but could you make a version that's less... neon?

I was thinking that, too.
I'll update my previous post.
