Umm...What is this?

I have signed up for numerous ARGs that are starting or have started an I am completely confused as to what this is. It could be completely fake, I don't know. I was told by someone to bring it to your attention. Thanks.

A bit vague, no? "A couple of months"? And the "Me has performed an illegal operation" bit sounds fishy. Not 'trout' fishy, just fishy. Maybe tuna. Mmmmm...farm tuna salad....

Looks like we're getting in on the ground floor of something new. I checked out the link and found this:

Quote:

[Log 11170401]

#:Initialize: /Behavior Modules/1-5/
#/Behavior Modules/1-5/ initiated.

#:Test:/root
#Testing/root/a-z:/01-9999/all
#Test completed…
#All systems functional.

<! The stats seem to be correct. I think the Opsis works. Remember to check all Behavior Modules prior to startup/eris.>

#:check:/startuplog.ww01/
#/startuplog.ww01/ checked…
#All stats normal…

<! For a first run with ww.01, it runs smooth. Need to install it into mainframe. More modules needed. /eris>

\Non BM05-authorized activity\
#Where am I
#Who are yo$£324/"¤7
#/BM05/ initialized…
#Flush /cache/…
#Cache flushed…

<! See what I mean, pers? But there is still much time to refine that. Now, it is up to you to get that mainframe going. When WW is ready, SW will be ready to install. Scout's honor…btw, dinner's on me Saturday>

I checked for startuplog.ww01 and found nothing. I'm no CS guy, so this could be a computer science term that I just don't know. The really suspicious part comes from the fact that the guy's screen name is JohnDoe777555. So, we've got yet another mention of 777. That's probably me just being bee-obsessed, though. However, "Who are you$324/"x7." Yet another mention of seven.
Let's start with that little mathematical formula there: 324/"x7 ... what's the ASCII code for "?
Found it myself. The ascii dec for " is 34. So, 324/34x7 = 66.706.
The ascii hex is 22. So 324/22x7 = 103.090909 ...
The ascii oct is 042. So, 324/42x7 = 54.

This could be something new, something for Project Syzygy or something completely different. I'm a bit attuned to things that seem to reference ILB, and there's some stuff in here that could be interpreted that way. Make of this what you will.

so fFar, it looks very like a ripoff of the ILB concept. we have some kind of system, and some people doing some kind of thing (looks like one guy is testing something acronymed to WW, while someone else is building something acronymed to SW). and *poof* a new voice pops in on the logs, all dizzy and woozy and stuff.

i don't think $£324/"¤7 is *supposed* to be math .. it looks kinda like garbage. the 'cache' in a system is usually simply a queue where stuff sits fFor a while when it enters the system. so what i see is a new thing coming in, and then the BM05 thing wipes the new thing out. in ILB terms, think of genie personal assistiant, eradicating durga. right away.

Well, we've got new stuff on the directory page. There's a link that leads to this:

Quote:
[Log 11170402]

#:Initialize: /Behavior Modules/1-5/
#/Behavior Modules/1-5/ initiated.

#:Test:/root
#Testing/root/a-z/01-9999/all
#Test completed…
#All systems functional.

#:check:/startuplog.ww01/
#/startuplog.ww01/ checked…
#All stats normal…

#:netsend:/user01/pers, I told you my system would work. There is nothing more to it. Now, you have to acquire WW. Remember that is has to be according to the specifications I posted to you earlier./
#Msg sent…

#:check:/user01/
#Checking /user01/
#/user01/ active…

#:netsend:/admin/I will get the WW, I tell you. I have already selected a fine sample. Have you corrected the bug? I sure hope you have, because TC will have your ass otherwise. Love pers/
#Msg sent…

<! See, I added the message plug-in for us to use. I don't know what the point would be when I've installed it into WW. But anyway. I love you…/Eris>

#:scan:/root/a-z/01-9999/info.ILB/
#Scanning /root/a-z/01-9999/
#/info.ILB/ not found…

#:scan:/root/a-z/01-9999/info.PS/
#Scanning /root/a-z/01-9999/
#/info.PS/ not found…

<! Remember, when installed to mainframe – scanning will be useless/Eris>

<! Pers, why do you insist on checking these logs? I only comment them cause you read them…>

Notice the use of info.ILB and info.PS ... ILB is obviously I Love Bees, and PS maybe SP turned around.

Storywise, Eris is scanning for two documents, info.ILB and info.PS, on a system that he created. He then remembers that this process will not work for whatever reason.

Eris is probably just used as the greek goddess, but it could be an Illuminati reference.

I have come to agree with Urthstripe. PS probably is a reference to Project Syzzigee if ILB is a reference to Ilovebees.

There's new information on the linked page. There is yet another conversation between Eris and pers as well as a reference to thought. html. On thought.html, there is an obscenely long binary string. Not being much good when it comes to computer science, I don't even know where to begin to try to crack this.

Quote:
0100101101101001011100100110101101100101011001110110000101100

0010111001001100100001011100010000001000101011011100111001101

101111011010010111000001101111011101010111001001110011011011

1101101001001011100010000001010001011101010110010101101100011

1000101110101011001010010000001100011011010000110111101110011

0110010100100000011001010111001101110100001011010110010101101

10001101100011001010011111100100000

Note that I've chopped this up so that it fits into the thread well, so these aren't the actual spaces within the binary string. In fact, there are no spaces.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
i recognized "Quelque chose est-elle?" as french right away, and loosly translated is "something is she?"

Kirkegaard is a popular last name in denmark, beyond that i found no danish definition, nor any other language for that matter.

i found NOTHING at all when i googled "Ensoipoursoi" anyone else want to try?

Looks to me like it should be "Ensoi / Pour-soi", which basically translates to "in itself / for itself", from what I can see. You can see the sort of thing I mean at http://www.spaceandmotion.com/Philosophy-Existentialism.htm - see the second paragraph under Sartre, Jean-Paul. (note - this site is out-of-game, I'm just linking to it for an example of context.)

And Kirkegaard might be a misspelling for Kierkegaard (Søren).

either way, still a popular last name. although due to the french translation, personally, i'd like to think it would be a female influence, not a male... even if the words need to be moved around it's still a "she". but, since we have no clue yet where this is going.... who knows.

so what we have so far is a page that alludes to other games {in theory}, an aim promising contact in a couple months {what an odd promise by a pm... unless he needed contact for pre game} binary that has a very odd translation after it's re-translated.... did i miss anything?

Pers could be short for the Greek hero Perseus.
