[SPEC] The worth of a thing is what it will bring

Just had a bit of a thought - maybe the right answer for the puzzle is different for each of us.

When we first found this game and registered with S&S, we were presented with a seriesof questions:

Quote:
What is your most worthy quality?

Sense of humour
Physique
Courage and bravery
Intelligence
Purity

Which of the following do you desire the most in your natural life?

Money (Currency Options)
Love, lust and debauchery (Services Options)
Cars (Automotive Options)
Flight (Aeronautic Options)
The finest food and beverages known to mankind (FMCG Options)
Mind Reading,
Necromancy and Telekinesis (Supernatural Options)
Clothes (Textile Options)

Which of the following do you desire the most in your unnatural life?

Money (Currency Options)
Love, lust and debauchery (Services Options)
Cars (Automotive Options)
Flight (Aeronautic Options)
The finest food and beverages known to mankind (FMCG Options)
Mind Reading, Necromancy and Telekinesis (Supernatural Options) Clothes (Textile Options)

How did you discover Sable & Shuck?

At random
Via the web
Incantation
Press
Word of Mouth

...and when we get the symbols puzzle wrong, it says "go back to the beginning".

Maybe the S&S site doesn't even save the answers to those questions, but if it does, maybe we should take our original answers into account when evaluating the symbols. Maybe that's why we should go back to the beginning.

If any of this is right, that still leaves us with the question of what symbol relates to which desires.

I really get the feeling finding Jon's contract password should be our priority.

Plus I'm starting to wonder whether he hasn't been hiding things from us too!

First thing, which I think has been noted before, but probably not been worked on is "the answer is staring you in the face" - which is similar to jon's hint for his s+s password - the fidelio on the hiding room's bathroom mirror.

Secondly - we have always assumed (ok, now I've just done a search before posting and that isn't 100% true ;) that Jon traded his childhood memories in order to be able to go to Babel's library and find the Book of Star. However - when you look at his contract on the S+S website, here is what you find:

Soul Worth: 100 O (theta/whatever)
Soul Derivatives: Childhood memories
Traded in Return for Services Options

now, if we go to the Inferno Cargo website and look at their services: what do those Services Options correspond to?!
Love, lust and debauchery!!

Or if he did buy those Travel Options too, then he must have sold more of his soul. Which we cannot find out unless we get to see the full contract.

services.

I noticed this long ago. I wondered about it. Loved Jessica... Harker?

Anyone tried Jessica as his contract password?

did i help?

What if we combined the two ideas in this thread the options we chosse before the puzzle and the inferno value chart
As mentioned above,

Can we take into account the no's for what options we picked?

When doing the puzzle I picked Mind Reading, Necromancy and Telekinesis so look at the corresponding no's 4 13 39?

Surely this chart has to help in one of the puzzles?

I didn't notice before that Jon had chosen "services" (love, lust and debauchery)!

In The Cache, he mentions that an attractive woman was looking at him in the street. I always assumed that this must be Brigid, and that this reference sort of reinforces the generally-accepted idea that she isn't really his sister.

So what if Brigid was the "services", and the fact that she found him means that his contract is complete and he's off to Hell? Maybe the purpose of her finding Jon in the first place was to have a bit of slap and tickle with him in order to conclude matters?

A bit of a racy theory, but Brigid is a hottie regardless.

choices.

Well. This being said. it still doesnt lead us to which symbols match which 'options'

There are 6 numbers, symbols. but only 4 questions.

Ok say 17 butterfly doesnt count. we know that one(supossedly, im starting to have my doubts about that)

And we somehow match each question to a symbol, number.

Thats still leaves us with 1 symbol, number.

=====
Of course there are 7 options. 6 symbols AND the star.
I would assume the star (if this thinking is correct) is the FMGC(stella beer)

(by the way did anyone ever figure out what FMGC stands for?)

1 Currency,
2 Services,
3 Automotive,
4 Aeronautic, Corvus? or Inferno cargo.
5 Supernatural,
6 Textile

Sorry for not providing the answer! I'm at the stage with this game now where wild speculation is the only course I can take. With only 24 days left until the closing date, there must be either a new clue around the corner, or something blindingly obvious that we've all managed to somehow miss.

My approach at the moment is to follow up any bizarre ideas that I get, post whatever I find on this forum, and see if anyone else can take it further. If we all do that maybe something will suddenly occur to someone and we can move forward again. At the moment nobody seems to have a better idea.
