Yeah, what they said. I *LOVED* this.

Will spend proper time reading through the credits this afternoon. I had already printed a hard copy of your work putting the book together from the MetaUrchins site some time ago.

I do have one question.

On the mail from mello to only me, Ehsan was CCd at EhsanSPLATitismissing.net--was that a hint, a red herring or a genuine "oops?" I was pretty sure it was supposed to be a BCC, but E isn't in the credits. That's the e-mail I stripped out before I posted the mail.

Anyway, congrats on a terrific effort. And now you see what we mean by "sleep deprivation," huh? Smile

Wolf, read the walkthrough for the full explanation of that. They also surmised (correctly) that that particular email was part of our chatting over pizza recently. Smile

/me waves at everyone Smile

Thanks for playing/following/being frustrated by/commenting on our trail all!! I hope you enjoyed it... and yes, it did cause some sleepdeprivation, but I'd like to blame that on Krystyn, as always Very Happy. We enjoyed making this game a lot, thanks again for following along!

And Wolf... we did send you another e-mail didn't we? Wink

Thanks

It was a lot of fun to put this together. Many thanks to everyone who took part in any way. We hope you had a good time; we sure did. There were lessons to learn for everyone, and I think we learned ours.

<--- BTW, the old avatar is back Smile

Cheers,

I love that avatar. I was missing it when it was gone, even though your bees one was cool, too!

Ahhhh, it makes me happy to see it back!

Indeed. Almost immediately after I posted about the first one Wink

I told Krystyn about it when we got together.

OK, off to read the walkthrough to get the inside scoop on all of it.

Edit:

Oh my god, that was funny. And the follow-up e-mail just convinced me that it was indeed an error—why else would you send an e-mail that said something along the lines of "As if we'd make a silly mistake." I took it as a step on your parts to confirm my suspicions and cover your butts. If Ehsan's name had been on the CC line of the second e-mail as well, I probably would have decided it was intentional after all.

And I'm reluctant, after seeing Wishi's dolphin drawing process, to admit this, but…

I stole the original dolphin illustration. Well, sort of.

Here's the dolphin process:

1) Go to Google Image Search.
2) Type in dolphin.
3) Print a suitable image.
4) Increase it by about 400% on a photocopier.
5) Trace it.
6) Create some stylized "waves" underneath.
7) Hand it to Krystyn to color.

My part of the creation of the original dolphin actually took me about two minutes of real work.

Krystyn (IIRC) actually did hand-draw the phoenix image, if that makes up for it Smile

I am shocked, shocked! Razz I had fun drawing it anyhow.

/me relishes the swag he got from the game, even if he was part of making it Smile

"I can't remember what IIRC means!"

Yeah, I did draw that one. oof. I think we were all under a major crunch, too. I'd draw a bit, scan it, show it to the other PMs, draw some more, scan it, show it, add some more stuff ... and then decide to do a second draft.

So, Wishi, your BTS sketches made me laugh out loud. We now have a kinship in sketching strange puzzle animals.

Btw, Ehsan, I was so happy to see you pop up out of nowhere! Don't disapper again Smile

P.S. Just in case metaurchins ever goes offline or anything, I will mirror the book here.

Hmm,

"error 404: File not found

An interesting read, a bit on the short side though. I believe I've read this
before actually Razz

Yeah, you'll have to change the intro flash. (it points to metaurchins.org, but with .html rather than .htm, so it doesn't work either way). Also, I'm totally saving yanka's smiley for future use. I actually looked through the emoticon list for something like that earlier in this thread, and was sad not to find anything. Hee.
