PerplexCity doesn't have a mailserver

Just incase you wanted to know, Perplex City does not have a mailserver. Or at least it looks like that at the moment.
I tried to e-mail senteSPLATperplexcity.com, but my mailsever hasn't received a bounced e-mail because of a nonexistant e-mail address. Instead, it has not been able to connect to the server.

it is much easier to claim these things with some sort of proof, not just one disappearing email.

perplexcity.com DOES have a MX server, so it has a mailserver, it just may not be an active one.

Can I firstly ask as to how you know this info....how do you know they have an MX server for perplexcity.com.....

as I was saying, it LOOKS like there isn't, I didn't say there isn't one.

Anyway, the mail I got back from my mailserver said that it had tried to connect to the server about 5-6 times and the request had timed out. I have tried to send another one with to "bob@perplexcity.com" to see if the same thing happens.

I know, I can't wait for it to start so I am grasping at every straw for more information...

connection timed out => mail server down, not non-existent.

('dig' is a very useful tool in domain inquiry, 'dig mx' tells you if there's a mailserver registered for a domain)

people are clutching at straws too much! but keep trying.. one of the straws may well be the needle in the haystack.

also no problems here:

Code:

[Contacting siyazi.pair.com [209.68.2.96]...]
[Connected]
220 siyazi.pair.com ESMTP
HELO blueshiftmedia.net
250 siyazi.pair.com
MAIL FROM:<web-status@blueshiftmedia.net>
250 ok
RCPT TO:<sente@perplexcity.com>
250 ok
QUIT
221 siyazi.pair.com
[Connection closed]

Thats from a web tools on my server, pritty much the same as CentralOps network tools.

ok, this is weird, i sent another e-mail a while back to bobSPLATperplexcity.com, and guess what...I havn't had any replies whatsoever....

No replies like the one before about not being able to connect to server...or anything saying that the e-mail address doesn't exist.

Heres a question, whats the possibility of them faking the returned mail e-mail. What I mean is, do you think that it is possible that they used a program to strip the header info from my e-mail and then incorporate it into a fake e-mail back, making it look like as if it was returned...?

Nah, i doubt they would go to the hassle, i'd suspect they've got a catch-all email address setup and when u tried before there was net problems / irc problems.
