The only 50-star restaurant in D.C.! With its sweeping views of Capitol Hill, there could hardly be a more perfect setting for this celebration of regional American cuisine than historic Union Station.

I'm voicing a tentative sound off for me and my girlfriend. Still don't know if we'll be able to make the trip or not, but I hope to see you guys there.

Sad that sucks.... i was just telling Autumn: "there's probably going to be this girl Phaedra there, you'll like her, she's someone you can actually have philosophical discussions with"
(my fiance devours philosophy books; if one could be a philosophy fangirl, she'd be Bertrand Russel's greatest)

<doleful sigh>

Well, tell her she's welcome to email me.

I think I'm going to go mope around the office, now. Maybe I'll get some chocolate out of it, at least.

I'm definitely coming. I'm going to talk to xnbomb and see if we can round up the Triangle Axon Hunter Corps and maybe the rest of the n.c. group as well.

Can't wait. See ya'll there. Cool

Tentative yes. Going to put in the time off request when I start work in 4 hours.

... Man, that's going to suck.

Union Station has plenty of parking, but it's kinda pricey. From what I recall, they charge hourly what the Metro charges daily, so unless there are plans made that specifically involve me driving around, I'm probably just going to leave my car at Glenmont and take the Metro in. I think there are probably more details somewhere in the DC thread over at Axon Coordination.

(Yes, that means I got the time off work. Yay!)

Big parking garage. Grown up prices. Best access is actually from behind the whole complex.

Neighborhood parking a bit of a walk (starting a block or two away) but should not be too difficult on a Sunday afternoon - directly across from Union Station is a lot of Capitol Hill parking that is mostly used by tourists on weekends. Leave yourself a little time to drive around and check out street parking.

Is anything happening that would make it necessary for me to drive all the way to Union Station and have my car available? (Otherwise, I'm sticking to my plan of just parking at Glenmont Metro at around 2:45 and taking the rail in.)

I'll be sure to have my camera all charged up!

Metro should be fine. We're not planning anything other than sitting in a restaurant and talking about the game and stuff.

Okay. I might change plans slightly and park in Silver Spring instead, as I want to head further south after we're done. Contemplating driving into DC again to find parking, but I tend to avoid driving into DC whenever possible >.>

Although it was fun driving around aimlessly (read: lost) for the two hours after the Union Station axons and before the Georgetown Cinema axons that one time I -did- drive into DC...
