if it was master, wouldnt the M be capitalised? if so it would go outside of the black marking, if you look at the capital C on Cube and you'll get what i mean

however it is a bit worrying about that capital letter that doof pointed out -- really that applies to any title for the cube

To be honest, I believe that any areas you're seeing as letters are probably just due to JPG artifacts. You could probably get everyone to see a word in it, and others seeing the word "master" is probably just due to people looking specifically for it.

I fail to see how blacking out master would hide anything, just because its "The Master Cube" doesn't clue us in to what we're looking for. I personally think that when we find out what is blacked out it'll make sense. Unfortunately while thinking of short words that go in front of cube that would make sense to us the only one I could come up with is Hyper. Is it a hyper cube? Have they discoverd time travel?! Is that the reward?!?!? Probably not, oh well.

i don't know, after i read this i tried to lighten and zoom in on the blacked out word as well, and at least to me, i can see an 'ster' pretty clearly in it. maybe i'm just seeing things, i have before...but i wouldn't be surprised if the name was 'master cube'. the name fits nicely w/ me.

Oh man, that does sound great, and welcome to the community (from one newcomer to another)!

I do agree with Fi, though; it's possible that what we see are just artifacts. It was interesting that they were both registered at godaddy, though.

However, I checked the registration (WHOIS) at godaddy and mastercube is registered to a named person in London (don't get your hopes up-- the one in Canada), whereas perplexcity and projectsyzygy are registered to domainsbyproxy.com, thereby keeping the true registrant secret.

I hope it's not against the rules to look there! (before doing so, the only thing I could find related to mastercube were Rubik's-type cubes)

I'd hate to be raining on anyone's parade by debunking this.

EDIT: It's possible it still says "Master," but mastercube.com isn't a part of it

i never thought it was ingame, and i do think Master is a bit of a far stretch, they blocked it out to keep suspense of the game up: "what the hell is that word? why is it blocked out? does it have a special meaning? why did sente tell us alot about everything else except the name?"
