PS3 is a Beast.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/4051983.stm

The multiple-processor machine at the heart of the PS3 will be able to do 16 trillion calculations per second, a feat which will outperform the current generation of consoles ten times over.

"In the future, all forms of digital content will be converged and fused onto the broadband network," said Ken Kutaragi, Chief Operating Officer of Sony.

With the incredibly powerful processor and a large broadband system, malicious AI's would then be capable of taking over the world, thus precipitating a nuclear holocaust upon humanity.

You've misunderstood a few things about what the article's saying, but you've got the general idea: The Cell Processor is beastly, meaning the PS3 will be too.
