Think harder.

Also wondering if 'think harder' is related to 'concentrate'. Concentrate doesn't work, though.

Can't remember.. was the 'think harder' line also used on the safe combo? If so, then it's probably not a clue.

I don't think so: there are still a million unsolved puzzles. We just need to THINK HARDER

The hiding room is not THAT complicated that we need to look for the pass all around the globe. Do you remember the first book that you need to click to get to the safe? This book looks like some dictionary of mithology. I enlarged the screenshot of the book but the text is illegible. I have the feeling that the password is one of these words that begins with F or G. Can anyone help?

Just got a mail from Jon:

You should be able to discover more in my updated journal. Be advised, ibidem is not sufficient, for it leads to as much error as truth (although mistakes can be extremely revealing).

The new cache password should be easy for any of my old friends and Lepidoptera protectors to work out.

Mutatis mutandis

Very cool, Jopra - My initial assumption is that this new email has something to do with Devil's Island - and the Grey Lodge with the Butterfly Suite. In the Flash Book, I noticed that "Mina and I had a quietly elegant time" is mentioned, Mina being Jonathan Harker's fiance/wife in the stories of Dracula.

I also watched "Papillon", the Jonathan Glazer-directed Stella commercial from 2003 on the Stella Artois site. No reference to butterflies, but the main character, Didier, protects his Stella until he is thrown into solitary and can enjoy it in private.

I love new clues.

Also, I may be overthinking it, but Papillon was incarcerated in "Guiane" (French Guiana, South America) - gUIane - a place where U & I meet.

A Useful Link?

Hey Guys, just got here. I'm really liking this puzzle. Got some info that might come in handy.
In the journal on August 13th there is a Useful link. I went there and was able to find some information, though I'm still trying to determine the new password....

Hi all, I have been lurking here for a little while and have decided to join in on the fun!

I went to the site that "Useful Link" leads to.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you create an account at FriendsReunited.com (the "useful link") and look up Jon Harker, you'll see the "Butterfly Preservation Society". Guess who is a member??? He has a profile and everything!!

I've searched this forum for anything that even resembled this new (to me, anyway) clue and nothing came up. Hope this helps.

That's because you are looking in the wrong thread. We only knew there was a new password based upon the email sent out by Jon. And if you look in the thread titled [EMAIL/PUZZLE] 21/12 Jon regarding Hiding Room and look at this post, you will find the answer.

Or alternatively, you can go check out the Wiki page for a more detailed solve.

Ah, darn. And I really thought I had found something new. Sad

Oh well. Thank you for the quick reply. Wink

SAFE and Misc

Can anyone get back into the safe in the hiding room?
The previous combination of books seems not to be working.

Estelle Star local scientist and feminist mntioned in the hornchurch news is also quoted on the S+S website as a satisfied customer.
Any ideas on how she can be contacted ? Can she provide leads ?

The last sighting of the man in black was at the ICA event in London, the next event on the stella premiere club is for the 24th Dec, A Wonderful Life, do you think further clues may be available by attending ?

Journal / Cache

Book combo still works for me; but when I use the first discovered password for the journal, no entries appear, it's all blank. 2nd discovered password doesn't get me anywhere Sad

I've noticed that 'House of Carde' are thanked for their support on helpmefindjon.com.
There is also an article on 'House of Carde' in Flux Magazine that Brigid has been offering on ebay.
The items she has been sellling are this magazine and the UNKLE After Dark CD, whcih appears in the hidingroom website.
She's just added a 3rd item to her list of sales - a t-shirt with 'he walks among us' on

I've had no joy however in finding anything on house of carde on the web though.

Thoughts ?

Have a look at the wiki Spencer, or use the search button- a few of us bought the flux mag and read the article- we couldn't find any new clues in it. It appears to be just another 'rabbithole', or entry point to the game.
