Glad to see some action! Too bad there probably won't be any postcards at Hartsfield Airport...I have some relatives coming in from South Africa.

Finally something new to work!! Going by what Slithy said, what if the picture on the postcard is of a skyline. Now this is a spec, buuut what if the postcard shows the same skyline (london?) from the pic of the sites second page, only from another angle. Perhaps the PMs are guiding us to a specific building in the skyline pics?

This ARG is like Christmas, seems like it takes forever for it to get here!

Cool.
Very Cool.

side-note: by now I'm surprized nobody mentioned any panini in this thread Smile

bacj-on-track:

Usually postcards say on the back the 'title' or 'subject' of the pic on the front. Anyone can read that?

From those pics, it doesn't look like an Italian stamp, but they might have made new stamps since the whole EU thing.
The '2210' thing next to the stamp *certainly* doesn't look like anything you typically find on Italian postcards. So, I'm going to guess that the postcard was not sent *from* Italy.

At the same time, it doesn't look like the same image we saw earlier on the site...

Edit: thanks Jonas for telling us about this, and hannah for posting the pics !

Also, can anything be read through the blackened areas?

I am curious about the blackened text, too. Often times, if the original text is written using the correct writing instrument and the redacting is simple permanent marker, without going over it multiple times, you can hold it at an angle and see that the light reflects off of the original ink in a slightly different way than the blackout.

Also, can we get a transcript of all of the text? The scan (photograph?) is rather grainy. It would be much easier for the bearer of the postcard to type it out than for us to guess at it from the picture. Surely you have a friend with a scanner (or something like a Kinko's Copies that lets you rent one by the hour) in the UK? If not, feel free to send it to me in Oregon and I can make a good scan. I'll even pay postage! Smile

how exciting! well, i guess since next year draws closer and closer, new things are bound to happen Wink

apart from that, how about the stamp on the postcard, if it is one, in the top right corner. seems like one of those machine-type ones. maybe we can figure something out from that. anybody know what "2210" could mean?

i'm not entirely sure if there is a stamp on the postcard. it kind of looks like just a little graphic printed on the card like you sometimes get on postcards to show where the stamp should go.

Ok, the more I look at the fron tof the postcard, the more I wonder if the lights in the building are an encoded msg.
ANyone else thinks it could be morse/braille/something like that?

I mean, those lights seem highlighted if you compare them with those on the other buildings in the bgr...

well there appear to be 28 lights in all, and going from top to bottom (or left to right, i flipped it the right way) and it looks like there is a maximum of 4 lights across

tilting head to the LEFT there are 10 rows of lights:

2 lights, right next to each other, left hand side
1 light on the left, space, 2 lights on the right
2 lights left, no spaces
2 lights left, no spaces
looks like 4 lights all the way across
looks like 4 lights all the way across
looks like 4 lights all the way across
2 lights left, space, 1 light right
2 lights left
2 lights left

i have no idea what this means
