Ok, allow me to share my thoughts for a sec.

This postcard was left in one or more public places to be found by random people.

As such, I don't think it's 'the next step' in the game, but rather YARH (Yet Another Rabbit Hole).

I'm new to the ARG community, but I'd think that, if this postcard was meant to be the next step in the game,. they'd pass it on to the people *already* in the game (i.e. for ex those that passed them their e-mail via the project syzygy page).

So, assuming this is just YARH,
it may very well be that the only 'puzzle' to solve in the postcard was the semaphore leading to the WKRH (Well Known Rabbit Hole).

After all, I believe rabbit holes are usually 'shallow' (i.e. they contain one clue or one direction, leading you to the place where you can look for more clues and puzzles if you want to participate in the game).

Does that make sense?

yes it does... considering so far I believe all the newer information we found seems to somehow simply point to the website(s) in some way... we haven't really uncovered any new information. just coded urls, direct links, etc... we haven't received any leads to obvious unsolved mysteries, just something we're not sure is a puzzle or not Razz

I completely agree, Olorin, but it is fun trying to squeeze EVERY little bit of info and speculation out of what little new content we get. Smile

Spec is what gets everyone thinking along the right lines.

Player 1: "Does the Postcard have a microdot?"
Player 2: "Christ on a bike it may do, let me get my electron microscope!!"

So far I'm more addicted to the actual game puzzles than the surrogate (i.e. specs ), so I think specs are more like...
...I don't know...
..
..ah yes, I know.
It's like VB for real programmers: certainly leaves a wyrd taste in the mouth.
Right?

I think this is pobably correct. I believe that the link to perplex city may have been the only 'important' puzzle to solve.

On the other hand, the marketing week ad contained a good few puzzles - the 'rabbit hole' leading us to project syzygy, plus the 'this is not a timewaster' code, plus a couple of others, one eventually leading us to the 'dinah' exchange.

I think there's probably a couple of puzzles at least in there, with the rabbit hole being the most important one.

My only concern is why they are still using rabbit holes at this stage - is there a set amount of people they need onboard before they start, and are they anywhere near getting them?

*frets*

Maybe we should all post loads of fake email addresses to make them think they've got enough?

(JOKE!)

I am seriously beginning to think that the postcard code has two uses:

1. Waste time
2. Make us list all the cryptography methods we know, so they can make puzzels that dont fit them.

Other than that, I see no point to it, and am starting to think its just foam.

Damnit, start PPC. You're playerbase aint gonna get much bigger.

I bet they'll be using whatever they used on the number again, then.
