This is absolutely hilarious. While you all seem to have been pulsing over this one card for days, I've got a few of them in my possession... as of today, got them in Chapel Hill, NC, USA.

Kristen,

Could you please scan one of your PerplexCity cards and post it up on the net somewhere so that we could take a look at it? Pretty please!

Will Scan

Oh absolutely!!
I am going to town soon and will scan it tonight. However, I'm in the midst of final exams at uni *right now* so cannot say when I will be able to post it.
I understand that you're all waiting on it, so I'll try to get it to you ASAP!
Let's just say the cards were given to me...

It's usually best to be open in ARGs, after all, we're all playing the game together. So share and share alike Smile

Good luck on your exams though!

<sarcasm> What... we gotta wait until AFTER the finals? Cursing </sarcasm>

Yet another reason to hate Final Exams! Meh! Rolling Eyes

Seriously though, we will appreciate whatever you can get us, whenever it is convenient for you to do so. Although highly despised, finals are important!

I went all over my town today putting these under black light, red lens, green lens, backlighting them with high-powered opthalmologist's equipment- THE WORKS, and have decided that on this mass-produced, photo-copied card, the lines, comprised of small red and green dots (thanks to a high-powered lens...), are only there to mislead you.

That's some dedication - you're gonna fit in just fine round here Kristen.
Wink

Anyways, FWIW:
a) I'd bet cash that the skyline doesn't exist in our world (and I'm not a gambler). I reckon it's just a CGI'd pretty picture to make people pick up the card. My folks just came through two airports today and they didn't see any cards so maybe I'm just despondent.....

b) The stamp really really looks like semacode (see Nik_Doof's reply up on page 2 in this thread). PLEASE can we have a better scan.

The whole 2210 thing is prolly a date (supports the theory that 'they' can look back at the past (us)) but could also be a clue. Having said the clue-thing, I can't think of any relevant numbers off the top of my head that feature 2210. Though maybe that's cos it's Friday and I've been out all evening, snoogans Smile

I actually went on the wikipedia and searched for 2210

..

..before realizing we are currently in 2004, and the fact that my search didn't bring anything up should *not* have surprized me.

Figured I'd share, in case anyone here knows other calendars better than me, and in some calendar something happened in the year 2210 Smile

Edit:
I could add a new post, but I'll just add it here:

Moving on: The right side of the card gets trickier. Upper right, I'm sure you've all noticed 2210, then the black and white postage-stamp strange looking square. UNDERNEATH that square is a series of very very small numbers, which have had me wrapped up for quite a while!! The series is: 221545484848465100503215

Who is our resident mathematician?
Does that series of numbers, by chance, belong in 'e' anywhere?

Negative result from search in 'e' to 9999 decimal places.

oneliiivewire:
Are all the postcards exactly the same? Especially, are there any changes in the '#02 in a series of postcards' or '221545484848465100503215' sections?

Anyone try running that number and decoding it?

Oh and btw, I'm just throwing in a "I'm new here," message, too.

Could this mean the start of the game has been sped up? We've been waiting for 2005, but this could mean it's right now on it's way.

Jonas/oneliivewire -

Can we get a copy of the text for the handwritten part of the note - I don't think we've seen the text before anywhere - also, a scan would be great.

Also, you say 'they were given to you'. You've spent some time following the clues, so I'd guess you would be as curious about it as we are....so

Who gave them to you???! Smile

I'm very intrigued that someone gave you a handful of these cards, and as to anything else that they did - do you know them? If so, where did they get them from? Did they say anything to you?
And so on...

Probably a little to simple, but 2210=1010.
