Yeah, I tried to take it easy just cause I wasn't too sure how much would be too much. Then when I saw you making it hard on yourself I was dieing/rolling...

hehe... I love binary... anyway, just worked up one for y'all... dunno if this one's too hard, or if clues are too vague, but it can be worked backward. It's another multilevel crypto though... :S

may take some work... Smile
(and it requires a hope on my part that something doesn't change, that I have no control over) :S

hmrpita and I spent far too much time on Saturday working this one out.....we got part A and part B done, but have been unsuccessful at getting the hidden quotation so far....

If you look at THIS SPOILER of Challenge 1 page you can see how they have done a similar crypto....using the letter corresponding to where plaintext A was placed in the cipher to spell a word. However, that doesn't appear to work in this case to make the quote.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I would think 20 letters would be enough to make a quote.
If anyone has figured it out and has a hint, it would be greatly appreciated. If you are as stuck, perhaps we can discuss it.

Hmmph. All I managed to get before I decided that I really had to get back to work was

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
PETER O'TOOLE (and ALEC GUINNESS (and RICHARD BURTON (and ELIZABETH TAYLOR (and ANTHONY HOPKINS (and HUMPHREY BOGART -- hey, he's American! (and LAUREN BACALL -- wait a minute, how come she doesn't have the same cipher as Bogart? (and BILL MURRAY -- Bill Murray?!? (Get back to work, dammit!))))))))

Mad I'll be in touch once I've had a chance to get further.

Edit: Okay, I've got all twenty pairs deciphered and connected. Let's find that quote!

Yeah, Shad0, that was the easy part. Wink
Good job. I bet you got it faster than ariock and I did working on it together.
I haven't looked at it since Saturday and I don't plan to because I will get sucked into it and not get all this stuff done that I should be doing.
But....if you have a lead or an idea or a hint or a whatever, please drop me an email (I'll get it faster than if you post here or PM me). Thanks!

I did a cipher to celebrate my 220th post, which is no milestone at all, but I wanted to write a haiku and a cipher. So there it is. Whee!

Shad0 - thanks for the primer... it seems so logical now Smile

Well, I promise to look at it, but I also promise not to be able to solve it.
(Hey, just a few days ago I had problems with a substitution cipher!)

If worst comes to worst though, I can always set it free on the high seas, and spend the rest of my life hunting my nemesis down with the trusty help of Ishmael...
