I know I'm probably stating the bleeding obvious here, but just thinking aloud and trying to recap on things that have been solved, and get into the head's of the PM's.

So far, all of the clues which have been solved and led us to the CONFER cache have been fairly straight forward (I'm not taking away from those clever people who have solved the clues - particuarly impressed with those who cracked the "Jon's eye"; 3 book safe sequence; and whoever sussed the pathway travel clues "Ibidem", "Reassuringly" etc - Slithy?)

... but all of the clues so far haven't been too obscure - especially the Fidelio and "5045" clues

.. so the Ibidem clue led us to the cache, the FR link led us to the Confer password for the changed cache.... so the changes "differences" to the Cache must matter, or why bother having a "new" cache

i know a lot of work has gone into looking into spelling discrepancies (thanks Sminky) but some people have looked into this and it appears that these have been obliterated from the old cache so perhaps we are not meant to attach any importance to these (genuine typo's which have been rectified)

therefore, the only "differences" between the old and new Caches appear to be the date changes:- (it is very possible/probable I'm wrong - if there are other changes, please correct me)

2/4 to 1/4
11/8 to 13/8
13/8 to 14/8
29/8 to 27/8
23/10 31/10

(I'm not counting the new entry of 21/12)

I don't think these dates have been changed because they were mistakes in the original Ibidem cache as other "mistakes" have been left in the Ibidem cache - eg. 5/5 - "May the Fourth be with you"

.. so why have these 5 dates been changed?

is it because, perhaps, they form some sort of password eg

2.11.13.29.23 - Ibidem or
1.13.14.27.31 - Cache

or do the entries on these dates have some particular relevance

Dunno but my own feeling is that perhaps we should just concentrate on these as otherwise there would be way too many permutations/possibilites in the Cache which doesn't seem to tie in with the way the PM's have been setting other clues.....

I think your right, looking into a few possible links now.
You missed one change;
6/7 to 4/7.

thanks Bingobango

...for some reason when i copied from the wikki, I missed out 1/7 to 9/7

so there are also 2 other changes to the original ibidem cache

6/7 to 4/7 as you stated

but also there is a new entry in both caches - 8/7 - which is the link to the Bazookas site - why is this here?

although both sites now have this entry, the original ibidem site didn't !

this is doing me head in...

but I still think that our energy should be focused on the date changes - the dates themselves or the entries on those dates

2/4 to 1/4
6/7 to 4/7

8/7 in both caches - bazookas entry

11/8 to 13/8
13/8 to 14/8
29/8 to 27/8
23/10 to 31/10

passwords/relevance?

sorry if I'm being obsessive/fixated on the date change relevance, but have noticed soemething else but can't quite get my theory to work

date changes

Code:

2/4 to                        1/4          April Fool's Day
6/7 to                        4/7          Independence Day

8/7 Bazookas link added to both caches

11/8 to                      13/8         Friday Thirteenth

13/8 to 14/8 FR link added to BOTH caches

29/8 to                      27/8         ?
23/10 to                    31/10       Halloween
                                21/12       Winter solstice*

*The declination of the Sun on the winter solstice is known as the tropic of capricorn (-23° 27').

Accordingto the "Ritual" calendars, www.ra-info.org/resources/significant-dates.shtml April Fool's Day, Independence Day, Friday Thirteenth, Halloween & Winter Solstice are all "Satanic" dates

..this seems a bit significant but don't know where 27 August fits in as it doesn't seem to be a key date in a a satanic calendar - only significance seems to be that marlowe started work on its new premises but this doesn't tie in with the significance of the other 5 dates...??

PS Jon said he was going to contact us at dawn of the beginning of next month (January) - january 1st is also a Satanic Date in the calendar

this is what happened, on the 27th of august

Quote:
He was referring to the submarine earthquake in the Indian Ocean off Indonesia that triggered the tsunami which devastated coastlines of seven Asian nations, with Sri Lanka one of the hardest hit.

it' probably nothin, but a strange coincidence at least, don't you think?

sorry that i keep posting, i will stop for a while after this one,

but does anyone know the soap "the time tunnel" (1966)

Quote:
Miles beneath the surface of the Arizona desert lies Project: Tic Toc: a top secret government research complex where the U.S. military are experimenting with a massive gateway to past and future ages called THE TIME TUNNEL. Doug Phillips and Tony Newman, two of the scientists working on the project become helplessly lost in the infinite corridors of time. While their fellow scientists labour to save them, the two time travellers become involved in key moments of historical and future events

one of the guest character's name is Jeremiah, played by scott marlowe
(episode 12 The deathtrap)
the ninth episode is called Devil's Island
and in episode 6 (crack of doom) they are experiencing the vulcanic eruption of krakatoa on aug 27th

it 'll probably be nothing, but i'm feeling kinda like the fellow scientists labouring to save him.. Wink

re Krakatoa/tsunamis - it is interesting but I think too coincidental

unless S&S is real !!! and the PM's have opted for the supernatural options to predict future events

the date changes to cache were made before the terrible events of 31/12/04

also, a lot of websites state that the Krakatoa eruption took place on 26th August

so.... is there another significant interpretation of the 27/8 entry of cache?
