not meant as disrespect, rowan72, but could you not refer to the bottle opener as a church key? It's not a common term here in the uk, and I think it could confuse quite a few people...

It's not a common term in the US either. I was only referring to it as a church key since a: its been mentioned several times as a church key in the other threads and b: IMHO I think it makes more sense to think of it is a church key in the shape of a horn (ala Hornchurch) then just a bottle opener. Notice the other place you see an apple. On the desk next to the computer which has the Hornchurch webpage up. Just a mere coincidence? Nothing (at least that I've seen so far) has been random. It all connnects through the themes in one way or another. The PMs have definitely done their homework.

Been on the Waybackmachine, mentioned in the cache, seems that the first page was from october 2003. Could it be a game page?

I don't think it's in-game:

Omni Magazine

Omni was a magazine which contained both articles on science fact , and short works of science fiction.

The magazine was started by Kathy Keeton Guccione the wife of Penthouse founder Bob Guccione .

The first issue was published in October 1978.

Omni developed a dual personality during its life. Its high circulation (permitting payment for stories many times higher than that of other science fiction magazines), coupled with some outstanding fiction editors, allowed it to attract prominent speculative fiction writers . It also featured serious scientific articles, and was in some ways a precursor to popular science magazines such as Discover Magazine. It also covered the paranormal, protoscience and related topics.

However, in its later years, the magazine seemed to become preoccupied with UFOs and the paranormal. Some have speculated that this may have been an effort on Guccione's part to increase circulation during leaner years.

After almost 20 years in publication, Guccione shut down the magazine following the Winter 1995 issue due to waning popularity. (1995 has a Golden number of 1)

The magazine survived for some time in an online-only version, but updates ceased in 1998 , and the site was shut down in 2003.

A short-lived syndicated television show based on the magazine's format (and also called Omni) aired in the United States beginning in September 1981, hosted by Hal Linden Hal Linden.

Regarding the disappearance of Jon Harker:
The evidence we have gathered so far points to the Man in Black as our prime suspect. While an intriguing possibilty, we have yet to see any evidence to lead us to assume any involvement on the part of the Men in Black.

Although the similarity in their names and manner of dress can be confusing, there are other subtle, yet distinct differences that can aid in positive identification:

Exhibit A: The Man in Black
Aliases: The Dark One, Shuck, Belial.
Physical Traits: Subject bears a striking resemblance to John Malkovitch
Notes: Witnesses have cited the following occurances in association with sightings of the Man in Black: clouds of ravens, hell hounds, eerie lights, localized solar eclipses, and machine failures.

Exhibit B: The Men in Black
Aliases: Agent K, Agent J.
Physical traits: Subjects bear striking resemblances to Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith.
Notes:Witnesses have cited the following occurances in association with sightings of the Men in Black: UFO sightings, paranormal phenomena, large tentacled aliens, and complaints of laser and ion cannon blasts.

In addendum: Several unsubstanciated reports purportedly linking Johnny Cash to Jon's disappearance also appear to be false at this time.

I googled a bit on 5"11, thats how tall Jon is.

511 led me to a travel guide at first but it is also a song from ozzy Osbourne.

Ozzy Osbourne
Road To Nowhere 511

I was looking back on my life
And all the things I've done to me
I'm still looking for the answers
And I'm still searching for the key

[CHORUS:]
The wreckage of my past keeps haunting me
It just won't leave me alone
I still find it all a mystery
Could it be a dream?
The Road to Nowhere leads to me

Through all the happiness and sorrow
I guess I'd do it all again
Live for today and not tomorrow
It's still the road that never ends

[CHORUS]

Ah ah, the Road to Nowhere's gonna pass me by
Ah ah, I hope we never have to say goodbye
I never want to live without you

[CHORUS]

The Road to Nowhere leads to me
The Road to Nowhere leads to me
You got to, got to, got to lead to me
The Road to Nowhere leads to me
You got to, got to, got to lead to me
You got to, got to, got to lead to me
Ah, the Road to Nowhere

Isn't Jon on his way to the road to nowhere looking for a library that doesnt exist??

reminders

Not new news and the wrong diectory probably but I have no clue where to put it elsewhere.

Why isn't anybody interested in the fact that Jon's "Hooved" Rug is similar to the one laying in S&S office?

The contract password is still not found? Didn't u received a contract password (those who registred etc?) which might be suitable?

Cheers![/sub]

As far as I know, none of us have gotten a contract with S&S yet. We've done the assessment test, but are still waiting to hear back from them.

As for the rug, I know it was mentioned at least once in the big thread, but at the moment it escapes me as to what was said.

Just read the Malkovich comment. The actor's name is apparently Anthony Ackers. Maybe that's old news, if it is I apologize. I found it here. Interesting reading.

Mail from Jon

Got a new mail from Jon:

Congratulations, you have solved at least part of the hiding room and proved yourself to be a worthy ally in the fight against the man in black.

You should be able to discover more in my updated journal. Be advised, ibidem is not sufficient, for it leads to as much error as truth (although mistakes can be extremely revealing).

The new cache password should be easy for any of my old friends and Lepidoptera protectors to work out.

Mutatis mutandis

Please note we are discussing the email in a new thread: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8399

Make sure you check out all the new posts from the day before you start posting "new" items. Thanks Smile

Edit..on second thought...please do not post the same information in multiple threads! You had already posted the email message here at 12:31. Posting it again an hour later isn't necessary.

With all the latin phrases being thrown around, plus the note in the Pathway books that the latin is important, can anyone shed any light on their 'everyday' translations? Legal eagles, I'm thinking of you- any of you lot come across them regularly enough to be able to piece together something from the specific words Jon's picking?
