I went for Research because that's my strongest suit; but seeing as everyone and their brother seems to have chosen it... I may end up in my second choice, Encryption.

Dear Encryption Team Member,
By now you have surely recieved confirmation that you have been accepted
into the ranks of Pandora Next and have been further informed of your
placement within the ranks here in the Media Analysis Team. The following
is a
list of the field agents on your team, as well as an e-mail address for each
of them. As per Director Zeke's orders, a Team Leader must be established
via election, and the results e-mailed to him promptly. If you all need any
assistance deciding upon the issue, please feel free to contact me through
this email account. Also, we must host a team meeting at sometime on
December 22nd. In the event that you are unable to attend, please notify me
immediately. The time and place of the meeting is entirely up to you, and I
expect the Team Leader to contact me with the information at the moment of
decision
Congratulations again and welcome on board,
Ben Davis

Dear Pandora Next Applicant,
Congratulations on being accepted into the ranks of Pandora Next. It is a rare honor bestowed upon but a handful of men and women around the globe. This rare honor also comes with the responsibility to not share what you see, hear, or learn during your service with us.
As a member of the Media Analysis Team, you will work as a group to analyze files of various multimedia content and determine irregularities, steganographies, and patterns
When a file is submitted to the Media Analysis Team, it will be distributed via e-mail or url. The file should be closely inspected to reveal all of its contents, both obvious and secret, and a report should be filed and turned into Ben Davis, Director of Multimedia, as soon as possible by the Team Leader.
The Team Leader should be decided upon by all members of the team via election, and the results should be e-mailed to me, Zeke Hornsby, Director of Operations, when they are determined. Included in this email will be a list of all e-mail addresses of Media Analysis Team members.
Congratulations again on being selected to join the ranks of Pandora Next. A Team Meeting should be organized to be held sometime on December 22nd, 2004. The team should discuss which time and where the meeting should take place, and either Derek or myself will make plans to attend when we recieve the information.
Sincerely,
Zeke Hornsby
Director of Operations

Just sent a "I'm here" e-mail to Zeke. Hope I'm not too late...
In any case, 4 and a half years of debate (still current) means that I'm a monster at research. Sounds like a lot of people are there though. Encryption is my next, assuming I get offered a place in the team.

Hi all,
I'm new to all this ARG stuff but have been getting up to speed with it over the last couple of days by looking into Sable + Shuck and Perplex City.
I'd be interested to join in this one and have just sent my e-mail off to Zeke. I'd be looking to join the Research team as I'm not too au fait with cryptography and the like, though it could be a good opportunity to learn.
Cheers, Greg.

Is it possible to play without joining a team?
Perhaps I should clarify: can I hang out here and perhaps help solve puzzles or whatever without doing this team stuff, or will I be so far out of the loop as to make it pointless?
Oh, and:

I don't see why not. The more brain power the better, I say.
They've already sent out an email that is part of the game, although several of us didn't recognize that and trashed it as spam. I think it's been posted in another thread - something about mysterious child abductions.
I'm not sure how much stuff people will post here as they've designated UF as OoG. An 'in game' board has been established over at Immersion Unlimited http://immersionunlimited.com/

exactly, so if UF is your home, it's doubtful much will happen here, and most of the game will happen at IU...
