I'm happy to answer any questions that are outside the story here, as long as the Mods are cool with it. I ask that on the SteinitzPuzzlers Forums , however, we keep things in character and not repeat this information there. Thanks!
Just wanted to point this out in case anyone missed it. I noticed a post or two on the Steinitz forum where people were talking about the info posted here in this thread. Thanks for answering our questions here, btw!

PM chat I just saw this thread. Thanks for agreeing to do the post game chat- it should be very interesting. I don't want to miss that.
You definitely made the right decision about exposing any players who claimed to be PMs or characters. I would extend that to include any fake site that people claim may be in-game, but you seem make a distinction there. I suppose as PMs you see people posting false information to deceive other players and you have to draw a line somewhere as to what you will let slip and what you will denounce. I haven't been to the forums for a while, but I think you have done an admirable job.
By the way, welcome charlie and VonMuda -nice to see you!! Spend some time here.

Slip of the tongue

In fact, as some of you discovered, they were originally going to be about Bardeleben but a last minute directive had us switch to the opposite player. Would you believe it had something to do with where they are buried?
Brian,
Was this a slip of the tongue and a little informationt that maybe shouldn't have surfaced. So far, I haven't seen this come up anywhere in the game, except for in the possibility that this is where the third urn is hidden. I've heard of a few people leaning that way. If this is way out in left field, then how does burial location figure into the story line so far?

It's from the narrative of the first urn, VonMuda (which involves the Bardeleben vs. Steinitz game.) You crazy puzzlers managed to dig up that we had other domains registered (like bardelebendds.com and bardelebenpuzzlers.com) which had been the original plan. Fortunately, nothing really had to change in the story (we just shifted our attention to the other player who's name didn't invoke strange European laws protecting the use of the names of nobles families, to be specific.)
The buried reference had to with where the real Steinitz is buried (ie, his citizenship at time of birth) and how that impacted the laws involved. Or so the lawyers explain.
You really thought "Marlene" would slip up?

Just out of curiousity, who is the person/persons who played the role of Steinitz in the photos?

"Young" Steinitz, (holding the skull), is an actor we cast in the role. "Old" Steinitz is a neighbor of someone who is working on the campaign.

Thanks Mike.
I hope you, Brian and all the Steinitz puzzlers have a great holiday season.
I am still trying to find a half dozen Reemco Sidewinders for stocking stuffers for the nephews and nieces. Boy the kids love those!

This has been a lot of fun Mike, Brian --
I just wanted to say thanks for a fun puzzle. I'm really looking forward to the post-game chat or discussion... I think there's a reason why the last 5 minutes of CSI or Law & Order are the most fun -- you get to see how all the little clues fit together!
Again, thanks, and Merry Christmas!

More fun than a catnipped kitty Mike and Brian,
Thank you so much for your skill and creativity in this! It's been so fun, but I really want so much more. What would your rates be to write more?

Dylan here, just came across this and wanted to send my thanks as well. You folks have made the last few months very enjoyable for me.
Just out of curiosity, why did Sharp kill the Cranium Club and how many skulls did get out? Was there more planned for the CC?

just some more questions regarding success/failure campaign You can look here for an up-to-date of the forum membership. It looks like it's going to cap out right around 1000 people. Like i stated here, http://forums.steinitzpuzzlers.com/index.php?showtopic=265 I thought there would be a thousands, maybe even 10's of thousands of people on here. It could have turned into something huge, like SETI. Does your company feel like this has been as successful as they were hoping it was going to be. do you think that the results support what you guys set out to do?[/url]

Thanks for the kudos everyone. There are some great questions that I'd like to save for the post game chat (which we'll try to schedule for next week if that works for everyone), especially questions about the CC and results.
And Dylan, I wore the grooves off this album back in the day .

Be careful Mike, I heard that there is a constitutional amendment pending that will ban that!
