I want me some Fight Club-style action, now. Sad

You and me both, skippy!

What I wouldn't give for a nice, civilised little kidnapping...

Do you mean you'd like to be the Kidnapper or Kidnapee?
Hmm...Kidnapee is a fun word.

Kidnapee. Somewhat along the lines of what Brock Enright is doing.
I mean, doesn't this sound cool?
Well, doesn't it?

RAWK! Just got my Applicant Perception Assesment. April 11th can't come soon enough.

Hmm...do you think I'll be stuck with "Soup4Brains" as an operative name, or will I be able to change it? Doesn't make a very respectable name for an operative.

The reason people aren't posting a lot about it anymore is becase The Cam themselves set a rule that pretty much forbids us from revealing details of our missions. As opposed to the group/community mentality of regular ARGs, Neurocam is focussed more on the individuals experience, it's meant to be something personal, almost intimate, something you do alone.
That's my interpretation so far, anyhoo!

There is quite a strong community of operatives interacting and speculating. http://smoon.nixsys.bz/forum/ is getting a good bit more activity than this thread, and Lady J's blog is usually updated with the latest Neuronews.

The missions are only one aspect of Neurocam. The rest we can talk about.

Here are some pictures from a mission a few of us got.

We had to go to a location and intercept a Dead Drop.

First picture is approaching the DD site.
Second is part of the search area
Third is the bottle that was found containing 6 numbers.....
Fourth: Briefcase found under the bridge
Five: using the code to open the breifcase, we find an audio recorder. It told us that this was not a real mission, and was acctually a practice mission setup for us.
Six: leaving the scene

I've checked everywhere about my operative name, and nobody seems to have an answer whether I can change it or not.

:EDIT: Ah, if you sign your e-mails with a different name, it seems they adapt.
Now, if only I could think of a decent name...

:EDIT#2: For all of you out there trying to classify Neurocam: This is not an ARG. It is not trying to be.
It has a few elements of an ARG, but is for the most part an experience all its own. However, I think this thread should stay here, since it's sort of an ARG, and it's one of the few places available to discuss NC.

Any ideas on what I could use as an operative name?

nice pics colin - did you all meet up at the scene and identify youselves as operatives? or did you know each other before hand?

I found this funny as heck. I sent an e-mail to enquiriesSPLATneurocam.com asking "is neurocam an art project?" last night, and just got this reply:

Quote:
Dear Soup4Brains,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Please be assured that I mean no offence when I state that your query
appears to be quite preposterous.

Instead of merely issuing an outright denial, I would like to suggest that
you reflect on a few of the following questions. Once you have completed
that task, I suspect you may agree with my previous observation.

- How would an "art project" fund an intensive advertising campaign?

- Why would an "art project" require operatives to complete tasks in a
variety of countries throughout the world?

- What purpose would such an "art project" have?

- Why would an "art project" seek to closely guard its proprietary
operational practices?

- What would motivate an artist to establish an "art project" of this nature?

I'm thinking of replying again, answering each question.
On a side note, are there any major Neurocam events in the US, or is all the good stuff confined to Melbourne?

hehe. reminds me of picasso or dali or some other avante-garde artist who, in reply to someone saying "why thats nothing! I could have done that!" replied "Well, why haven't you?" ...brilliant!

Also, where and in what form is the intensive advertising campaign? Still awaiting my next assignment.

They've done some advertising in Melbourne. Wouldn't call it "intensive" though.
Anyway, like I asked earlier: are there ever any major events in the US? I live in Fort Worth, Texas and was hoping I might get to do some of the cooler stuff rather than busywork.
