Here's the truth about Neurocam.

What you are about to read is real. It is a conversation that had taken place between two people who wish to remain anonymous. Portions have been edited to increase privacy. Draw what you will from what you are about to read. Read, then discuss.

1: Hello Are you there?
2: who's this
1: ******
2: oh hi
2: whats up
1: Hello
1: not too much
1: just had a question
2: k shoot
1: have you submitted your neurocam registration email yet?
2: yeah
1: Have you received a reply?
2: to the first emai
2: l?
1: yes, the first email...have you received a reply?
2: yeah i got a reply in a few days
1: I see..and what was the general jist of it?
1: *of the reply?
2: it gave me another assignment
2: i was to do a perception assignment and fill out a questionare
1: I see
1: have you done this and submitted your results yet?
2: yeah
1: were you accepted as an agent?
1: or a "member"?
2: not et
2: i havent yet gotten a response on the second thing
1: You do realize that Neurocam isn't a game, don't you?
2: is that right?
2: as i understand it, its more of an exerience
1: If you want to call it that, sure.
2: are you an operative or is this from your own research?
1: Yes.
2: yes to which?
1: Yes to both.
1: Naughty Boys go away. Be careful.
2: yeah i went through the egotript archive
2: he never actually said which frightened him though
1: I'm just giving you forewarning. Be careful if you choose to continue.
2: well thank you for the warning
2: what exactly should i watch out for?
1: Just follow the rules, and you won't have to worry.
2: oh
2: well i dont have any intention of breaking the rules
1: How familiar are you with psychology?
2: i took AP physchology.. its the college-level psychology course that you take in high school to get college credit
2: thats about it
1: I see.
2: why do you ask?
1: Ever read about experiments done on human beings when they're put into rooms without certain common-placed everyday items, such as clocks?
2: sensory deprivation experiments?
1: I ask because I wish to prove a point
1: yes.
2: yeah
1: You know that the majority of people tend to start to lose there minds after a while, right?
2: so i've heard
1: Do you know what ultimately causes them to lose there minds?
2: what is that?
2: a lack of control, perhaps?
1: (this is namely about clocks) the ability to not know
1: *the ability for them to not know something simple
2: i don't follow
1: Allow me to explain in this way: Neurocam is a seemingly simple operation, on the outer edges, at least.
2: right
1: It has operatives perform seemingly random tasks.
2: right
1: Tasks that don't make a whole lot of sense.
2: right
1: After a while, operatives start to become curious.
1: And that's when they become naughty boys.
2: ok
2: and you'e resisted that temptation?
1: Patients that take part in sensory deprivation experiments sometimes do crazy things...again, I'm referring to a clock...they'll start to do anything to know what time it is
1: Now do you follow?
2: yes i believe so
2: people become thirtsty for knowledge
1: exactly
2: and when they cant get it, they cant stand it
1: and that's when people start digging
1: exactly
1: and it's when people start to dig that they become naughty.
2: i think i understand you
1: Okay.
2: so are you trying to tell me not to get involved with neurocam or to resist this temptation?
1: I'm not saying anything in either direction.
2: Oh, just for my own information?
1: If you wish to join Neurocam, do so. But if you do, just use common sense, and be careful. If you chose not to follow Neurocam, don't.
1: Yes.
2: well thank you for the heads up, i appreciate it
1: There is one other piece of advice i'd like you to pass along to you..
2: ok
2: what is that?
1: If you do in fact chose to follow neurcam and become an operative, don't ever fucking stop. If you do, you stop. I'm not making any joke about this.
2: Why is that?
1: If you do in fact choose to follow Neurocam and become an operative, don't stop carrying out your orders. If you do stop, you stop.
2: Are you saying that if I decide to resign as an operative neurocam will try to have me killed?
1: Neurocam isn't a game. People lose interest in games.
1: You can't lose interest in Neurocam
2: You didn't answer my question
1: You can't afford it.
1: You can't afford to.
2: What specifically happens to people who try break involvement with neurocam?
1: Something different happens for everyone.
2: Do you have any examples?
1: I couldn't say.
2: oh
2: well i will keep that in mind
1: Let me ask you.
1: How old are you?
2: 20
1: You're too young..you've got so much living to do.
2: one second, ill be right back
2: back
1: Okay.
2: I feel confident that I can handle myself in whatever situation might arrise
2: arise
1: Oh?
2: I find your warnings to be a little unfounded
1: Do you? Why is that?
2: Because you aren't able to give me any specifics
1: That would make me a naughty boy, now wouldn't it?
1: Or, at very least, reveal me as one.
1: Additionally, keep in mind I don't know you from Adam.
1: You could be anyone.
1: Seeing as how you seem to be the honest type, however, I will say this.
2: what's that?
1: Back in my early days as an Operative, there was a period of about a month I didn't keep up with my assignments.
1: Each week I wouldn't complete an assignment, I would receive a warning letter.
1: When I didn't respond to them, I received letters that were harsher...containing light threats...
1: When I responded to these threats, they sent me back a textless email, with a few jpegs attached.
1: What were those JPegs of?
2: I don't know, you tell me?
1: My home street sign, a picture of me walking around the campus of my college (i commute locally), and a picture of my girlfriend.
1: These seemingly harmless, simple tasks don't seem so harmless anymore, do they?
2: oh wow, I had heard of things like that happening
1: I presume they had operatives in the area performing these tasks.
2: but still there is a difference between passive photography and true violence
1: They took a picture of my girlfriend. How could they even know?
2: oh believe me, that is frightening
1: It wasn't posed, either
1: it was a candid shot.
1: That's what I'm trying to fucking tell you.
1: It's not safe. They brainwash these operatives into doing these tasks.
1: That's how they keep tabs on 'Naughty Boys'
1: And the Ops don't even know it.
1: Or realize it.
2: but thats only a half truth
1: The ones that do tend to disappear.
2: because there are operatives who are fired from neurocam who the organization no longer wishes to communicate with
1: Did you know there are ranks among operatives?
2: No I did not realize that.
1: The further you advance, the more important you become. The more important you become, the harsher the penalties become for breaking the rules.
1: Those on the outer rings are just slapped on the wrist and let go.
1: Do you get it yet?
2: oh
2: Yes
1: It's the perfect ploy: an organization that doesn't technically exist. It's a virus. Because there's no organization to accuse of crimes it's impossible to accuse them of anything...
2: Listen, can we please talk tomorrow?
1: Not to sound cliche, but it is everywhere, and it is nowhere: Neurocam.
2: I have a lady friend over and she is getting really impatient
1: You're not taking me seriously, are you?
2: no, no i am
1: I see no reason why we can't talk tomorrow.
2: can we please talk tomorrow?
1: Okay.
2: ok great
2: until tomorrow
1: Bye.
2: bye

I'm sorry, but I still don't understand how this could be real. (The conversation, sure, but threats, disappearances, etc? Come on...)

Not to mention, if bad things have happened, or if people do know the ultimate agenda, what stops them from say, going to the police. All they gotta do is explain in detail, the police investigate (trust me, all you'd have to do is say "online cult" and "threatening people" and "running missions" and cops would be all over it in the name of Homeland Security), and that's it. Whoever you know is then arrested or at least questioned, and it's exposed.

And if it's such a big, bad organization, one would think that SOMEONE would have come forward by now. I mean COME ON!

There are ways to do this anonymously, and they're not doing it.

It's a fake, and things like this are just publicity stunts to keep bumping the subject, and keep interest in a dead fad-ish whatever it is...

NEUROCAM is a joke. (No matter what the website says. It's a joke that went rampant.)

I'm sorry I never jumped too deep into NeuroCam, but this sounds a bit TINAG-ish to me...
is this the case or is this a game/suspect game that really wants us to take it as serious?

especially revealing is the bit about people dropping neurocam. Someones been looking at the stats!

"people get bored of games" - yes, we got bored
logic: "its not a game!" therefore "you cant get bored!"

sounds like:
nc1: "we lost all our operatives, cos they got bored of it, how can we get em back?"
nc2: "I know, lets set up one of those chain emails, you know the one that contains a gypsy rhyme and pass this to 10 people or something "bad" will happen".
nc1: "that will scare em, but lets pretend a player got it from us...ooooh"

This is all of the cloak-and-dagger nonsense that got a lot of us fed up in the first place. Yes, a little bit of that is fun, and keeps you interested in a game. But when that's ALL there is, with no real substance behind it, what's left???

Plus who could ever realistically copy down that "real" conversation, unless it was happening right next to you and you happened to have your laptop with you. ? Rolling Eyes

That's an online conversation, obviously, over some sort of messenger service. (Look at where he says "Are you there?" and "2: one second, ill be right back" "2: back")

However, if that conversation did happen, it's probably a disgruntled former op. There's a few that I can think of who might the type to spread nasty rumors, and for every one I know, I'm sure there's twenty more that I've never heard of.

I have been a Neurocam member for a long time and I can tell you that whoever the first guy is, he doesn't know a thing about Neurocam.

Neurocam is completely safe and to all extents, good fun. Operatives can resign at any time they want, even with assignments pending.

If someone doesn't complete an assignment, Neurocam would not waste their time of day trying to scare you into doing what they want. They simply discard you from the organisation. After all, if you're not going to join in, why would they want you?

It's no secret that there are different ranks of operatives but the rules regarding resignation remain the same. Indeed, many high ranking members of Neurocam staff have recently resigned. The best example perhaps being the ex-CEO of Neurocam herself, Bridget Fischer.

Neurocam's disclaimer may be long but it's right. Neurocam is not dangerous, Neurocam is not illegal. etc.

Neurocam is getting more sophisticated all the time.

They continue to draw very skilled operatives and the media that surrounds it is getting better all the time.

Neurocam is accepting applications at this time.

p.s. Gil from El-Centro may have been playing Neurocam? Or did he read Poker Without Cards...both known to drive people over the edge into fits of paranoid delusion. Consult your Pineal Gland!

I just recently became an operative of neurocam.

Also, I want to clarify something about that AIM log posted earlier. In it, I was person 2 and keely4777 or someone that that poster received the log from is person 1. Interestigly enough, the screenname of person 1 is paxwell777. A search of unforums as well as a google search reveals that this person is not new to starting stupid aim conversations with random people.

This is good stuff. If I was you I would forward it to Operations. The look highly on incentive and good intelligence.

I would agree that this is a disgruntled ex-operative. I think he may perpetuate the mystery that he is being followed by attacking Neurocam publicly, triggering natural security protocols . There is some sort of investigation wing. There are several wings that specialize, the science wings are the most secure and all we hear is the misinformation that a unstable operative will leak...generally the leaked information is part of the security test. For instance one does not catch Fabrey disease...one is born with it.

They kicked me out for breaking orders (plural), I argued with Maxwell, nothing bad at all happened.
college art project, bored rich guy, call it what you want.

It's not important as everyone makes it out to be, is what it isn't.
Call it the human drive to give meaning, to use their imagination to fill in whatever meaning doesn't stick or whatever seems impractical.
I found it too boring to enjoy, personally. So I broke some rules.
And, again. still here.
Still laughing at most of you people, also. Wink Just because it's funny, not -at- you really. XD
