I'm still trying to figure something out with the numbers as well, but one thing that I've noticed is that there are fourteen pairs of numbers (#.#) and fourteen words. Haven't gotten much further than that.

To avoid going to an angelfire site, maybe someone could just post the picture in question here?

It's more than a picture. It's about "keys" that have been left by the ancients to their secrets. How reading the symbols for what they really are gives you the keys. There is mention of the star pattern on the spring equinox 4000 something BC is the same as the Gaza pyramids. The idea of 'as above, so below" is the idea here. Symbols then found on objects in the pyramids relate them again to possible land masses.
The site itself is not ingame, but the info may be either a key to thinking about the graffitti or a site they used to build the story. it is one of the words from the list. The star pattern they talk about "appears to be eaten by the morning sun" and at least 2 of the names on the list are refered to as gods of the morning sun. Some of these apparrent out of game sites maybe hints to help us in solving the ingame puzzles.

the questions you have raised
the answers and meaning that you seek to find
echo and resonate throughout time and in us all; for those who see, a path appears to follow
"ex lux in tenebris lucet" - and the light shineth in the darkness. enter the mythosphere
The text after the Latin is the correct translation (minus "enter the mythosphere)
I'm assuming since we are on the "doorstep" and the last words are "enter the mythosphere" that we have to find a way in.
And we may not have much time: "doorways are ephemeral" ( lasting a very short time )

the planets Perhaps there is a certain order that we have to click on the planets? I tried clicking on each in the order from the sun, but that didn't seem to work.
And what do the pictures at the beginning (the trees, bird, unicorn, sphinx) mean?
This is an interesting puzzle ... I like it, but it may be beyond me.

UPDATE: Synthasia email new email on synthasia from the mayor's assistant reminding dale about a meeting regarding the police report and about the upcoming press conference

Subject: Reminder
Date: 30 March 2003
Mr. Sprague,
Mayor Dobbs has requested that I remind you of two upcoming important events. First is the special Borough Council meeting scheduled for tomorrow night at 7:00PM in the Mayor's office to review the New Jersey State Police Report from your accident. I'm truly sorry for bringing up such a painful subject for you but the Mayor thought you might want to be there for any discussion with the other Council members about what may or may not be relevant to ongoing Borough Council operations and what needs to be released to the public.
Additionally, the Press Conference to discuss the graffiti investigation is tentatively scheduled for this Wednesday, April 2nd. As a Borough Council member and an actual victim of the graffiti, the Mayor encourages you to attend.
On a personal note, it's good to have you back with us. Please let me know of anything I can do for you.
Lorraine Tweed, admimistrative assistant for Pat J. Dobbs, Mayor of Aglaura NJ

New mail from the guides to Dale and others.
It seems to suggest we start with the "eye"
Quote:
A symbol is ever, to him who has eyes for it, some dimmer or clearer
revelation
of the God-like.
The very basis of language is metaphorical. We usually distinguish
things by
comparison; our basic description of the world around us is full of
examples.
When we ask, "What is it?", we tend to reply by making a comparison: we
say it
is like another thing which resembles it in some way, real or imagined.
Within
the described thing, object or quality, we seek some character by which
it can
be fitted into some human conceptual framework.
Like language, the alphabet is a metaphysical description of reality.
Letters
in an alphabet are metaphors for reality. Many different alphabets use
the same
shape-forms to represent different phonetic sounds, or different
concepts.
Others use multiple symbols for the same phonetic sound. To suggest, as
some
people have done, that certain specific uses are correct, and that
others are
wrong, is a form of cultural arrogance. Overall, these alphabets can be
viewed
in the same way as languages, in which quite different words and syntax
may be
used to describe the same objective phenomena. None is any better then
the
other, but one or other may be more appropriate under different
circumstances.

I'm not sure that it suggests we start with the "eye" as the initial paragraph is a quote.
Quote:
"A symbol is ever, to him who has eyes for it, some dimmer or clearer revelation of the God-like. Through all there glimmers something of a divine idea; nay, the highest ensign that men ever met and embraced under the cross itself, had no meaning, save an accidental extrinsic one." CARLYLE.

I think it may suggest a possible letter/symbol assignation of some sort, that the symbols stand for something. No clue whatsoever what it could be though:)

Subject: Big Mistake
Date: 04 April 2003
You must have thought you were being pretty smart, didn't you? I don't know how you knew we were coming to pay you a little visit today, or where you found those weird goons who was in your house, waiting when we got there. But if you thought that would stop this or scare us off, you are wrong. Dead wrong.
If those guys are working for you and you think their "tricks" are gonna help you, you're dreaming.
We got people everywhere, you know, more people than you can imagine.
Big mistake, Dale. Big mistake.

I'm thinking the "dead eyes" decided to pay Dale a visit the same time Sal did. Perhaps the dead eyes have some telekinesis abilities or something.
