Perhaps..but either way, as evil sounding as "dead eyes" is, perhaps they're part of the good guys. I like the spec that they may even be the Guides come to help Dale in person.

Well, we have to keep in mind that there are two groups of "Strangers" active in the town.. The nice ones who are apparently willing to buy items, and the daedels (dead eyes) who try to intimidate folks.

I very much doubt that the daedels are part of the good guys, or even the guides. More likely that they're part of the bad part of the mythology they're tinkering around with. Voodoo isn't very benign most of the time.

The two groups may be those who are willing to share the secret with those they deem worthy and those who want the secret kept from everyone. They would want all Dale's records and to shut Dale up as well. The first group are willing to have Dale learn the secrets. 2 sides of the same coin so to speak.

Dead eyes dead?

So does this mean that the brothers took care of the dead eyes? Will the bodies turn up in Dales house? Will Dale be a suspect?

Guess we will need to tune in to chanel 8 for more details...

Well Sal mentioned they employed tricks, disappearing bodies after being shot might qualify as tricks. Wink

Stupid trip spams.

but why would it be important to the guides that Dale get his taxes done?

Gotta get his taxes done before he leaves. It's a clue that he's not leaving the country, otherwise he'd just pull a Polanksi and stay gone in exile.

See, I got this game all figured out.

---

So what you seek...you cannot go. ? Be with wife/child? Go to the past?

But, even if this seek is denied (which is what they make it sound like), he STILL has to go someplace? Why? He won't get to his objective but he still has to travel...

Of course, it's easier to budget for travel if you use TurboTax!

My guess is that the brothers were not able to do any real damage to the dead eyes. In his e-mail to Dale, Sal refers to them as "the guys working for you", and not "who worked for you" or anything similar that would suggest that they have been killed.

Please, could someone lead me to the origin/explanation of the "dead eyes" labeling of these bad guys? I seem to have missed that part, I can't sem to find it anywhere. Thanx! Razz

E-mail from Sam

I did not see this anywhere else but figgure it would help explain a few things. This is the letter I recieved from Sam.

Doug:
Hopefully you made it to the Press Conference or have at least read the
transcript by now. A few people have sent it to me so I know it's circulating
around.
Listen, I've purposely been lying low at Dale's request. You see, he's been
afraid that I was making myself too visible as a friend of his and the main
connection between him and all this help he's been getting from people outside
of this area. In the last week or so, he's become increasingly convinced that
things are getting dangerous for both him and anyone who may be trying to help
him. I was passing this off as paranoia, you know, after effects of the trauma
he has been going through but with the events of the last two days I'm
convinced. From incidents at his house, to these strange people showing up and
questioning anyone who may have seen or talked to Dale lately, there's no
denying that someone seems to be very intent on getting their hands on him.
I was hoping to write you and assure you that Dale was indeed OK. You see,
after what happened last night at his house, when those strangers tried to get
into his house, Dale came over and stayed with me. He managed to get out of the
back door and away from them and didn't wait around for the real Police to show
up. He was really shaken up about the whole thing and didn't want me to tell
the Police or anyone else he was here. Today, however, he decided he needed to
go back to his house and pick up a few things so he went there this afternoon.
I couldn't go with him because of work I had to do at the Municipal Building.
And now this . . .
Have you seent he newsclip that was posted in the last hour on the Aglaura
website? I'm really worried about Dale now and haven't heard from him since
earlier today.
Please, if you hear from him at all, get a hold of me right away. I'm not sure
what to do anymore.
Desperate,
Sam

Reasons the Daedels (it's a Sluggy Freelance reference. Look it up, it's Nifty!)

1) They intimidated Wes with regards to a) the where-abouts of the disk, b)the where-abouts of Dale.

2)They've been creeping out alot of other folks as well with their questions and presence.

3)Upon the wrist they bear a tattoo. A tattoo indentical to the graffiti marking which have shown up around town, identitcal to the marking found in AGP, near Digitalis' tent, just after he disappeared and before the amusement park disappeared.

4) Most of the good guys, know that showing up in a locked building with someone who thinks himself alone is not very conductive for the establishment of a relationship based upon mutual trust. (Not these guys.)

The Tax email to Dale might not spam. I find the phrase, "which is about all the time you have left", a wierd thing to say. I know it's getting close to tax day, but along with the phrase, "you'll get them done in no time", kind of makes it sound ominous.

Dale does not get spam. Everything that appears on that site is specifically selected by the PMs. Mailed him on tuesday or wednesday. Told him to go to ground, stay with a friend, didn't matter. Just not at his place, that the Gruesome Twosome were coming to visit him.

That e-mail didn't appear in the automated database system, ergo the PMs must be selecting things for us to see. This "spam" e-mail may very well have a hidden message. The site to which it links is legit though.
