i think i have the first one.

the second looks like it may be a transpositional, which would fit well with the trailhead page's message.

 		yeah that first part is a simple substitution cipher.

im still working on the second.

i just solved the third. i was wrong about it....

it is a vigenere. and i feel dumb because i took the long way around and solved for the key with spaces between repeating letters and everything and ended up smakcing myself on the head as the letters of the key became clear....

"reading"

that was the subject on the livejournal page over the text. duh!

anyway it says:

 		the top letter could refer to the letters in the page title, but it probably refers to the "letter" in the top post, about the ghost.

and even if i was to acertain what the key word is, how would i use it here? another username perhaps?

 		The text about the Declaration of Independence seems out of place, maybe the "top letter" has something to do with the Declaration of Independence, you know, as a letter
