???

We just comment on what's been happening. We're not plotting anything against anyone or anything like that.

Everyone's more than welcome to join, all you have to do is express it.

If that last comment was in response to me, you completely misunderstood me. I never implied in the least that you were plotting against anyone, or being exclusive...

It was in reply to dorkmaster. I understood what you said, yet all this rules and meta and what-not thing just sounds like chinese to me...

Sorry for the confusing writing, too many drinks...

Well, just to be understood, there's always been an unspoken rule that the forums are always out of game. That anything said in the forums, as far as the game is concerned, stays in the forums. Example:

You could say in the forums:
"Obviously, George is the killer, from this evidence here in this thread..."

And at the same time, your player-character would really have no idea that the information you located here existed, so you could say, in all honesty, to some in-game NPC:
"I have absolutely no idea who the killer is. We have no evidence leaning one way or the other, but we have our suspicions..."

Does that make sense? Also, then, you could have two factions talking on the forums, and in-game, they would just ignore that conversation in regards to their play. It's part of the immersive nature of these games that the forums can be used to further story and puzzles, but mostly, it's a "meta-game" experience, meaning it's not in the game, so don't make it part of the game... that's why the rules of unfiction.com state that you cannot post as more than one person. It makes sure that you are not being "in-game" on the forums. Does that all make sense? Anyway, not dissing any ideas on starting separate channels of communication, because if it makes sense in the game, then go for it, but just remember that unfiction is a resource, and anyone who would use it against someone else, in terms of "player vs. player" is not getting the idea of the place, is all I'm saying.

Dorkmaster, what you said is very true for ARGs

Neurocam is not an ARG.

I will admit to not knowing then, and stay outta this one. But I still feel like there should be shared experiences on this forum, otherwise, what's the point of keeping this thread unlocked in the first place? What purpose does this thread hold if there's no interaction? That's pretty much my point.

If the game or whatever it is, necessitates uncooperative behaviour, then definitely do that. But if not, why abandon the forums? That's my view, and now that I've ranted way too much for one week, I'm outta here.

(Don't worry, no offense taken nor intended, just wanting to not cloud the waters)

Lost purpose..

Ok, I have just checked the staus of this thread for the first time in a while and i would just like to say that yes, maybe the thread has lost some of its purpose, but the whole point is to inform any NC 'operatives' who may feel unsafe or doubtful, of a safe place where other beginners or even decorated operatives with advice to give (which we all may become at some point) can gather and share ideas, problems etc in a community where no judgement or skepism or involved.

I would like to take this opportunity to reilliterate the point of this topic, Neurocam is a mystery, none of us know what it is or who is involved, so anyone who is thinking of joining and is maybe a little nervous of doing so, talk to us first. After all, we are all in the same boat..

New Neurocam agent/player/whatever

Hey, I signed up for Neurocam, and I just got the questionnaire and "write about everything that happens on a certain day" mission. I answered the questionnaire already, and will send in my report once it's done. Are you guys still doing the mailing list thing? If so I'd like to be included please.

Count me in for the Urban Hunt Alumni Association Operative Group. Because, quite honestly, signing up for this can't be any dumber than my old spec that the link between various haunted hotels was that Teddy Roosevelt was reputed to haunt most of them Smile

Hey I am a new operative who is based the the United Kingdom, Has anyone thought that it is easy to infiltrate a private forum? A company so highly intelligent as NC has probably already assigned an experienced operative to be among you.
