I know it's true, but I don't know how or why it's true that when you translate the first bit of binary you get a series of &#and numbers, with semicolons and it turns out to be text and numbers... how is that... (I can't even write the text I'm speaking of, cuz it won't print right on screen, even in "code".... Anyway, just a primer for a not so quick dude?

(Edit: the Binary I'm speaking of, is if you order 13 of the larger size Slumberil, and 37 of the other size Slumberil.... Also, anyone know how that number sequence was determined to give us the now defunct login/pass?)

Any ideas on how to do the second part of her request, to make the trail lead to someone else? Also, should we do it? I figure we could:
1. Send e-mails to pandoraSPLATslumberil.com with suspicious Matrix questions, directed to someone who isn't Rebecca Night (we think it's her now, right?)
2. Leave ftp files that implicate someone else. I know it's not specific to the in-game site, but maybe the PMs will respond to it anyway. Seems worth a shot.
Is there anything else we could do?

So, then, two questions - should we do this? And, if so, who should we implicate? A coordinated thing would probably work better.

[edit] Dorkmaster, are you asking about converting the binary, or about how the result leads to text? For the latter, the result is a bunch of html ascii codes. I'm not sure why someone tried 13 and 37, except for the 1337 thing.

The number sequence is 1337 (which is "elite" in leet Smile ) Why anyone would have thought of using it as order quantities is beyond me Confused

If you were using nickciske to convert, it might have spit out ascii/unicode stuff at you. When you attempt to post it here, the board wants to automatically convert it to text for you (try pasting that string in google, and it will give ROOT etc.). Am I anywhere near being right with this?

Conclusion: use different converter Smile

Ok time for a "quick" mongo update. Most of this stuff comes from the xmyth board.

Please see the post I made a few hours ago on this thread: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=117174&highlight=#117174 I don't think it's in game at all.

Omnie and Yanka are right, this is a side affect of your converter. The binary, strictly speaking, decodes to those &# codes. Those codes, in turn, decode to the ROOT/Z1ON0101 we expect.

If you refresh the http://secure.slumberil.com/ site until it reads "Index of ./" in the title bar, and then view source, it has the coment string: <!--j5042100-->

The mailing list code is kept in http://www.slumberil.com/secure/zmailerlist/ . It may be in game because it was a standard Apache directory listing, that was then changed to the "in-game" Zaibatsu style.

There is also a maler front end at http://zmail.slumberil.com/ or http://www.slumberil.com/zmail/ . The HTML is obfuscated using regular javascript techniques. There isn't much of note in it except the username submit is called "username4" and the password is called "password3". The box appears to be a "remember password" option. I can post it here if anyone wants it.

The zmail logo at http://zmail.slumberil.com/images/zmail.gif has morse code embeded in it. If you blow it up many times and look at the lower edge of the Zai Mail text you can see darker grey boxes of morse code.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
--.. .- .. ... ...- ----- .---- ----- .----
Decodes to:
ZAISV0101

The other discovery was http://www.slumberil.com/private/ . It is protected by a password, but none has been discovered yet.

It was mentioned that today was a patch with with MxO, having a 800mb + patch.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but in one of the files' names there is an url.
Following that will lead you to:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.geocities.com/MXOHITMEN/
which will then lead you to
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://www.freewebs.com/mxohitmen/
which I'm too tired to investigate now.

I see you're rapidly catching up.

MxO hitmen is an MxO 'guild' or organization. Those files leading to their website were uploaded by their leading. They have nothing to do with this ARG.

I doubt any beta tester while find anything related to this.

No, we have found not a single new piece of useful information on that ftp site to indicate that it is anything but a badly configured service.

So whats the deal with this tactic:

Its a genius tactic, but if the ftp isn't IG then there really isn't a point. I think we need to come to a consensus on this matter before myself or ayone else begins to go into early stages of insanity.

Don't overlook everything people were looking for something that was useful on the server, well the fact that we can upload on it is useful especially if we are to complete the task set forth by pandora/rebecca.

Oh, sorry, I don't think it's in-game, but the e-mail thing by itself seems weak. Doing anything with the ftp would probably be pointless, but I just figured it wouldn't hurt, so why not?

On a completely unrelated sidenote, I just remembered that the Lewis-Sigler Institute of Genomics that's alluded to on the bio page wasn't running in 1999. I don't think it was even built in 1999, it's very new. I'd be all, "ooh, plothole!!!" if this weren't already in several layers of alternate reality. *ahem* Yes.

In the Matrix it is the 'Carol-Lewis Institute for Integrative Genomics' NOT Lewis-Singler. Read the bios page.

I read that part, but the rest of her post didn't match up. Why is it a plot hole if it's even the same organization?

Anyway, I'm shutting up about this.
