Also, a bunch of the background pictures have gone wonky. The background for door_to.php is now much darker and the background for the admin page has some funky swirls in it now.

Luo Guanzhong was the author of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, one of the most revered epics in Chinese Literature along with Journey to the West. He was so hung up on Journey to the West, I never considered looking at the other Chinese works.

Okay, I think I have all the updates listed on the wiki. Most of the pages have some sort of garbled text on them - tho you can usually pick out one or two words in them.

I am a bit confused as to whether or not Jill is dead. Element0 kinda says she is, but on one of the pages, there is a scrap from what looks like another report by Paddy that says she was checked out at the hospital and is fine. And what the hell has happened to the site? It looks as though a text editor threw up everywhere. I'm gonna see if I can gather all the garbage text and see if it pieces together at all.

Oh, and on a funny little side note, it seems that the PMs were beekeepers. On n8 it relists the passwords found on the update page with one addition: a_pawnnoimjustkidding. For those who don't know, a_pawn was the answer to one of the riddles that took us ages to solve - by far the hardest puzzle of the game (and not the best solution either). Although, if the answer had been "a_pawn" I think I would have killed someone

Just got an email from Daemon Works, stating that it's under technical difficulties. Click on the link on the bottom of the email takes me to the logon page. Get there, and...

Don't feel stupid...this game is very confusing. I've been playing for a while and still have no idea what's going on. I got the same email, although one thing I've learned is unless something is posted in a meta forum as a meta post, it can still be considered in-game. It's a big possibility that this "technical difficulty" is a new part of the game (although I'm not totally ruling out a real attack on the game - it's happened before).

If it is in-game, a whole bunch of stuff happened yesterday that I haven't quite figured out. I don't know if there is anything more to the garbage text than the few bits and pieces that are understandable. If it's some kinda code, it's a bit more complicated than what we've seen so far. And I think that the flash file on element0 might be a big clue. Lots of very strange stuff in that. Has a sort of 7th Guest/11th Hour kinda feel, imho.

If it's out-of-game, then there isn't much to be done (and I would hope that the PMs would clearly state that it is OOG, so we don't spend a lot of time chasing down leads planted by a whacked out hacker). Just sit back and enjoy the downtime (and maybe catch up on some wiki reading).

When in doubt though, remember that "This Is Not A Game" unless someone comes on UF (or another OOG/meta forum) and tells you it's not
