I get the general idea from how you're talking about it, but you didn't really answer da5id's question. You haven't given a word of explanation for what synchronising is, or how it works. You've just elaborated on when and where you do it.

IE Help

Sorry you think I'm being so oblique. This is everything IE help says about it. Actually there are a couple of other entries but they are no more enlightening than this one. I am not trying to keep things to myself. I have pointed out that I am not technical and the truth is I do not know the actual mechanics behind synchronisation of web pages. So, I am sorry if you are not satisfied with my explanation but it was the best I could do.

no problem, fimacmo - it's clear you are using offline browsing with IE.

also, another thread was opened regarding the updates, so you were right when you posted about the change. congratulations about finding out about this (even though it might mean nothing, but that seems to be the normal case around here). Wink

Just thought it was worth pointing out discussion of this has now started in a fresh thread (yeah, right, like you hadn't noticed Wink ) seeing as this one is specifically about the pp7.jpg image.

fimacmo: don't worry if some of us are a little more technical than you; you spotted this way before other people demonstrating just how valuable all members of the community are here. The more brains working on this the better.

I can help you out a little, the pp7.jpg file is not stegged with camouflage. Camouflage (and many of its other low security brothers) simply appends data to the end of the JPEG file. A normal JPEG file ends in the bytes 0xFFD9, one with camouflage data in it will not.

Just so you know, I did run about 5 different search terms before posting this and came up empty - so it's non-intentional trout if it's already been discussed.

Which I'm probably sure it has even if it's not been posted.

What about stegging in the pp6 image (Sente's letter) on the main page? When he says "hide and seek", it reminds me of JPHide and JPSeek.
I don't have a clue about stegging, destegging, or how to go about doing it.......but it's a thought (albeit probably not an original one Wink )

i think i tried both jpseek on all of the pics as a first off. destegging is pretty tricky in general- if you dont have a password. i do remember someone mentioning that there is a hint if you viewed the image as text, and see certain additions to the code you know it has been modified. cant remember specific, guess you could steg with jphide your own pic and compare the code to the unstegged Wink i might do that now.

edit: woah its late, losing all coherency Confused

edit edit: oh yeah, i didnt find anything when i first ran jpseek Razz kinda forgot to mention that? meh time for sleep.

Just to weigh in on this one - I tried running stegdetect on all the images on perplexcity.com and I opened them in a hex editor (lets me look at the raw hexadecimal code making up the image as well as converting the hex code to ASCII). Turned up nothing on either method.

Of course, I only really checked the start and end of the image files in the hex editor because if you printed out all the hex code from the letter on the homepage at about 12pt you'd be looking at at least a couple of dozen pages and my eyesight starts to go a little squiffy if I stare at page after page of encoded gibberish for too long Wink

So maybe, if someone's feeling masochistic, they could take another look. In fact, it could be that the pictures have been altered since I mirrored the site and they now contain a coded message that wasn't there before. Either way, I think I'll let someone else have the fun of trying to find it......

This is nothing to do with stegging and is speculation. Please move this to a more relevant topic if needed. It is however about the image with the six pictures...

I don't think anyone has noticed this; (probably have though Wink ) the picture bottom right with the letter has a £50 note on in the bottom left corner of that pic. I presume this is the same note as in the pic above. Leading me to believe that Sente is either in London, OR (more likely) the letter is. I know this is pretty obvious but I haven't noticed it being mentioned yet (Although it probably has)

It probably is Trout Trout though..

I'm still new to this so feel free to slap me with the fish, but this thread is about the page of images right?

Obviously the pictures are there for a reason, from reading the threads and post it seems that everyone has tried all conceivable ways of finding a hidden message, but what if the clue/message is not hidden, but actually staring us in the face. In the Independent (on Saturday UK) there is the puzzle 'what's the picture?' which involves a series of seemingly random pics that have a 'hidden' meaning but requires literal and lateral thought, and the pictures on page two bear an uncanny resemblance.

Eg picture one is a skyline of a city…or a view… the second picture (left right top to bottom) is of the letter..Or should we be looking at the fact there is the address, or the table the letter is on. So it starts to read "view address… or view table…" I haven't had time to work out things for the rest of the pics but the close up of the 50 could be "note, number, red, 50, money" etc… Also I noticed that in most of the adverts (firebox etc..) the web address is backwards and upside down, could this be applied to the way the pictures are read?

Sorry if this has come up before, but I did 'search'
